Sims has never thrown that many sliders in one single outing this year.

Also, if you noticed in the dugout he had a towel wrapped tightly around his arm/elbow in between the 8th and 9th inning.

Why change something that’s working. Dude threw 15 pitches and got 4 outs. Who cares what he threw…

I mentioned this the other night in the game thread. I talked to a scout I know and sims last 3 fbs were 94-94-95.

You could tell the arm wasn't 100% full go. It was more 90-95%.

And when that's the case, you pitch him like we did with a heavier dose of sliders, because not only can the FB still beat people, but you go against the scouting report some and keep a team off balance.

Good to have confirmation. Figured he probably wasn't blowing people away with a fast ball in the high 80's, but was concerned maybe since he was throwing so many sliders, there was a big enough differential that the batter still wasn't catching up.
