That?s what they are saying in the CWS broadcast. I?m sure you guys saw it too. Hope he pitches like it in Omaha.

Yeah. He'll be gone by end of the 1st or early in the Supplemental round

His stuff plays in the majors in a solid way. Plus FB and a plus slider. If he can more effectively use his changeup or develop a 2 seamer, his potential is a #1 or #2 on a team in 4-5 years.

Notre Dame did a nice job of laying off his slider and sitting fastball. That will be the Texas plan I'm sure. Hopefully, Bednar can throw his slider for strikes.

Notre Dame was the most disciplined hitting team I saw us play all year. I will be surprised if Texas is anywhere close to that.

His slider that day was garbage. Flat. No depth. Bad location w both pitches. If he's like that tomorrow we lose.

And the fastball was 3 or 4 mph off. I wonder if it was mechanics or what but he was off all the way around.

I have noticed the last couple times he has pitched he has sit 90-91 in the 1st inning and then gradually gained mph. The first time I noticed it said oh shit, hope nothing is wrong. But It was like once the nerves settled and he got into a groove, he was throwing 94-95…

He will leave if he is a first round pick.

As he should

As he should

Correct. But it's confusing to me because he doesn't really look like a first round pick to me. Second or third round-yes.

He's got clear first round stuff. Two plus pitches, with a change that is a start to a quality third pitch. He just hasn't shown consistent eliteness as we see from other first rounders.

Update: He was not like that.

Nope. Like I said before he has first round stuff. Just hasn't been consistent from start to start.
