In OTAs at cowboys camp. I mean the highest paid guy on the team is there. I guess he just wants to get a check and that's all. This generation of ball players is different. On another note, Osiris Mitchell is getting a little action (I can still only hear his name said in Neals voice).

The world is won by those that show up. Guidry, I guess, likes not being very good.

He's holding out as long as possible. When you can't catch you don't have much of a shot in the NFL.

Why in the world would he not be at OTA unless you know you?d be cut in a day or fail a drug test or something?

I suspect it's just laziness, but the one argument I could see for it is teams are not allowed to retaliate against players that don't show up for OTAs. THey aren't even allowed to warn players that not attending will have an adverse impact on how the team treats them.

Maybe he knows he's going to get cut and this is sort of like an employee that makes some sort of complaint for some Title VII violation or a whistleblower complaint. Then, if they are fired for poor performance, they at least have a claim that it was retaliation against a protected employee, which might make the employer less likely to fire them. So arguably by skipping OTAs, Guidry is making it more likely he keeps his practice squad spot b/c they don't want to look like they are retaliating for skipping OTAs.

The other potential argument is that he just has a realistic view of his capabilities and place in the pecking order, and thinks he's good enough to be a practice squad member and not good enough to make the final roster, and participating in OTAs isn't going to change either of those facts.

What's crazy is they are short on receivers and are having to sub other position players into that role some. Guidry is specifically mentioned as not showing up by staff.

I am not sure I would go that far to say something like this about one of our own. Remember, this dude decided to come and play for our bulldogs.
