FIFY. Not a better hitter in the SEC and no one plays college baseball harder than TA. I hope we have another guy like him. Mangum set the bar high and TA kept it up there.

IT really is crazy how good he has been in the SEC, seemingly without getting a ton of hype during the season. Obviously people noticed because he got the POY, but it doesn't seem like he was talked about the way Mangum was talked about.

Well, Jake was kind of hard to ignore since he won a batting title and hit .408 as a Freshman, then capped it by chasing the All-Time hit record.

I think TA's slow start last season kept him from getting hype this year. But, I'll definitely put him up there as one of the best of the post-Polk era.

Year before last TA spent the first 3rd of the season swinging at balls in his eyes and the scouting report was out so everyone kept throwing him there. Once he cut that out, he went on a tear. Had he not had such a bad first 3rd of the season simply b/c he was swinging at those high pitches he would have hit well over .400.

Last year he was hurt most of the time.

TA deserved it; he proved game after game he just delivers every time his number is called. If there were any doubts the Bama series just showed one last time. His clutch hit won game 1 and the outfield catch shows he can perform where ever he plays.
