I think it's pretty simple, we need UT to lose the series to USCe this weekend

and we need to win our series vs Bama. If that happens I believe we are a lock for a National Seed. If UT wins USCe series, we need to sweep Bama. I believe, the committee doesn't want 4 SEC teams as National Seeds if they can help it. They would be much more comfortable with 3 SEC, 3 Big 12, 1 Pac 12, and 1 ACC (or Notre Dame). It's likely UT passes us in RPI if we both win our series 2/3.

I actually think SC does take that series at home. They?re dangerous if they get the bats going, really like their pitching staff.

The NCAA will allow 4 SEC national seeds so go ahead and stop worrying about that. It happened in both 2018 and 2019. Now what I will say is you?d for sure like to make sure you?re third in the pecking order and not fourth. So go ahead and root for Tennessee to lose. My biggest fear with us losing a Top 8 is Florida taking two in Fayetteville or winning the SEC Tournament and leapfrogging us with us even doing anything further to hurt ourselves.

Based on what? Supposition?

The NCAA selection committee has been very fair to the SEC in recent years, including as said above giving 4 top 8 seeds to the SEC on each of the last 2 tournaments.

It's more likely that we get 5 top 8 seeds (I have to specify because nowadays they seed 1-16 and consider them all national seeds) than just 3, assuming nobody plays themselves out of one.

I will say that now that "national seed" refers to the top 16 teams, not top 8, (as of 2018), the Selection Committee may feel even less pressure to spread out the top 8 seeds, since you can still call yourself a national seed if you're 15th or 16th now. Just "balance" the hosts and call it even.

It's awfully trendy to simply redefine words nowadays, but that doesn't change the fact that 1-8 are treated differently than 9-16. The 1-8 regional winners will host Super Regionals over 9-16 regional winners.

They will prob choose 2 of the 3 between Us , Tenn and Fla.

I don't think Vandy is a lock yet. I think they have to win at least 1 this weekend and probably 2 to be an absolute lock. They lose 2 this weekend and they are sweating it.
