So, while this weekend did not go as planned, the SEC only stats show some interesting things about where we are and how our concerns compare to the league:

Offense
6th in AVG at .266 (4th in overall at .283) - this has continually improved over the season - no one is over .300 in league play
6th in OBP at .359
6th in RS at 156
7th in Hits at 247
11th in HR with 30 - but, the #4 team only has 36 - the league has tightened in HR
1st in fewest K's at 196 - still not striking out, but not hitting lots of XBH

Pitching
5th in ERA at 4.53 - no team is under 4.00 in league play
3rd in OBA at .239
1st in Innings Pitched at 244.1
1st in K's at 325
Tied for 1st in Saves at 10
3rd in fewest hits allowed at 223
3rd Most Walks allowed at 117 - span from 3rd to 7th is only 9 BB

Fielding
14th in Fielding % at .970 - that's bad, no other way to put it - but no one in SEC is above .983 - fielding has gotten pretty bad in league play. Interestingly, our Fielding % in 2019 was .971 with 32 E's - so we seem to be continuing a trend
1st in Errors at 29 - the spread from 1st to 8th is 5 errors - so there is a lot of bad fielding going around
3rd in DP's turned at 24

The stats reflect our concerns - middling offense, pitching down some vs. early season, and bad fielding.
But - Just to compare the SEC to 2019 - 2 team finished over .300 (none are there currently); 3 teams had ERA's under 4.00 (none currently), lots of bad fielding

Looking at that fielding % makes you appreciate we lead the sec in Ks. God help us if teams were putting the ball in play a lot
