No, his offense was costing him exponentially more than his defensive run saves. It wasn?t even a close discussion. His defense wasn?t winning a game for us. Bring him in the 8th or 9th inning for defense makes sense. His hitting completely wiped out what positive defensive metric he was giving you into negative territory.

Yea, didn't understand taking the bat out of the hands of the lefthander with a bunt to bring up a guy that is very susceptible to a strikeout. Would definitely rather had 3 chances at a hit that would have driven him in from 2nd and Dubrule may have been our best shot. Cumbest is still pretty much all or nothing with the bat and its difficult to expect him to just put the ball in play.
