Keep an eye on Saturday and next Wednesday

After an extended quiet lull in severe activity, severe weather looks to return to MS Saturday and again next Wednesday. The Saturday threat looks to me pretty ho hum at the moment and will be predominantly south of I-20. However, the threat for next Wednesday may be a little bit more of a kick in the balls. Still way too early to say for sure but some of the early forecast parameters are looking impressive. And yes, it's not lost on all us weather nerds that next Tuesday is the 10 year anniversary of the 4/27/11 super outbreak.

And for those of you that peruse social media in your leisure time keep in mind that since the Wednesday event is near the 4/27 anniversary, this system will have the hell hyped out of it. There will be posts that this will be Armageddon, Camille, the 86 San Francisco earthquake, and the 2011 outbreak all rolled into one and placed on steroids. Long story short there is no way of knowing right now if this will end up being a major event or a two claps of thunder a passing shower. Just have to get closer to it.
