CBH is gearing up for one last ride. He wants to make noise in the NCAA and has said as much to the players coming in. I expect one more big player announcement in the coming weeks. Hopefully he rides off into retirement with having us made the sweet 16 or better.

One last ride! Man I hope so. Leave us a winner and a desirable destination for someone to take over.

seems like a massive waste of money. college basketball home games and suites won't be a big revenue producer. The Hump is fine except for the exterior.

Will be fun to see the students interested in men's basketball again. Women's slipping only helps the men's attendance (could be wrong)

He probably will and we then realize how good of a coach he really is.

Huh? Is our goal for gameday experience to recreate an Alabama concert circa 1982? Our concessions, restrooms, viewing areas, etc. are all woefully dated.

Yeah. The Hump was awesome. When my parents were at MSU. Pretty smart of MSU especially if we have a good year. And if Howland retires a new facility may be able to help us attract a good coach.

Yep, in college basketball you need at least 2 alpha guards. Need Stewart and Molinar both back.

So going after the Oregon point guard means we expect to lose Stewart? Or is the Oregon point guard going to come off the bench?

HoopsDawg

I use hand sanitizer. But surely a good plumber can fix that for less than 50 million. Ole miss built the Pavilion for 96 mill.

The Oregon PG came off the bench this year.. he was a freshman.

There might be but we don?t exactly have a lot of open shots to offer, nor can promise a starting spot.

I gotcha. So best case starting lineup would be

1 Mol
2 Stew
3 Jeffries
4 brooks
5 Smith

Plan b is put Mol at the 2 and the transfer at the point I would assume

And..

the guy from Oregon is not a difference maker. We have 1 year to make a run. Next year is that year. Need a great shooter or a great PG. Now that we have Brooks and Jeffries, we have a lot to offer a player looking to make a 1 year impact.

You are correct. Don't get me wrong, we have added 2 talented transfers. I'm pumped about both of them. But our 2 biggest problems last year were turnovers and 3 point shooting. We haven't addressed those areas. Now, add 1 excellent guard to this group, someone like Akinjo out of Arizona, and now you've got something.

Molinar and Smith played the point mostly after Molinar returned from missing those initial games, but yes DJ brought the ball up alot and played that position as well, they all 3 ran it. Most of Howland's guards do this. Basically you need 3 or 4 good combo guards that can essentially play 1 through 3 and thats at any program. That's why it's important that we find another quality guard even if Stewart stays. Right now Molinar and Stewart are our primary ball handlers but Stewart is more of a scorer, I dont like him playing alot of PG.... we are also bringing in the combo guard from Oak Hill but he is a Freshman so you never know how ready he will be.

I don't know, having one true PG, even if he's not elite, could be a difference maker in a lot of games. Haven't seen the guy from Oregon, so maybe he's just not good enough, but I think just an average true pg could help us a lot.

Quinten Post just entered the portal too so that opens another spot. I like Post but he never really put ot together at State. I think we are OK on size with Brooks, Tolu, Javian Davis, Murphy, and our Forwards (Fountain, Garcia, Jeffries, Matthews) who are all about 6'7, long and can play some PF if we go small. We definitely need a good guard to add but I wonder if Howland tries to also add another big?

There is only one more spot unless someone else leaves
