A couple of things. First of all, Bednar has to develop a third pitch that he can throw for strikes. Right now he essentially has two pitches and against good hitting teams he's occasionally gonna be exposed. Offensively, the combined 37 runs against Auburn and Arkansas State were a mirage. We're back to being who we thought we were and "it ain't good". I just don't see us being a CWS team because of the offense, or lack thereof.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure if this was benching other than the match up against this pitcher. Until coach sits him for a couple of games in a row or vs a righty, then we will know that he is giving some time off to reset himself.

If we go down tomorrow its going to hard to justify trying to get a national seed when we will have lost 5 of 6 to Ark and OM at home. We would seem to be pretty stuck at 3rd in the pecking order of our own division. Really none of the 4 games we've lost to Ark and OM have even been competitive. Just have to get it done somehow tomorrow. I look for it to be a high scoring affair. Hopefully we saved all of our hits today for tomorrow.

This. We're second in the SEC west top 5 in the country, our staff is doing a bang up job. Baseball isn't football, it has ups and downs just the nature of the game. What you do in baseball is search for consistency and to win each series, ain't going undefeated in baseball lol.

I agree. Gautreau can't go up there and hit for them. We were bad today but our fans should never judge our baseball coaches on one outing good or bad. Heck- we had a really good day against a probable first round pick and beat him on Friday.

We're just inconsistent because we don't have very many upperclassmen hitters more than anything. Once guys like Kam James and Logan Tanner become juniors they'll be very good hitters. James already is right now.
