I?ve no doubt it was a difficult decision. She took a big leap of faith staying after the change. However Coach McCray- Penson had a very good resume and results from her stint at ODU. I?m still hopeful she can turn things around and was very excited when she was hired. Unfortunately at this point I don?t see anything on or off the court to substantiate that hope. Everyone is upset now but I could see a situation where by this time next year nobody is even posting about it anymore. It is very disheartening how fast this has gone south.

This is remarkable. Now, even if we did fire her, what is there even left to work with? That is why you can't be their friend and their coach. You can be friendly, but you cannot be their friend. In the end, nobody respects you. Not the fans, the players, the administration around you... This goes as one of the worst hires in any sport of all time.

I was totally unconcerned with the other transfers, because frankly they weren't going to make us a better basketball team.

Madison would have and this is the only college coach she's ever had. So it tells me we have the kinds of issues I was hoping were just message board garbage and that the reality was NMP knew what she was doing and just had a bad start. Somehow we've missed something yet again in the interview process. Like Joe, Nikki looked great on paper and is probably even a really good interview. But we're not identifying leadership skills and its biting us in the rear end
