I'll say this, if we are going to have that shift on, that play has to be made.

In other words, if there's no shift on, Forsythe makes that play relatively easy.

Agree with this and many can't see the difference. I think he may have been safe too but there is no undisputable evidence so you have to go with call on the field. Another misapplied application of the replay rule straight from the SEC office in Birmingham.

That's one thing a lot of fans in general in the baseball world don't understand about baseball stats. They're essentially odds and there a favorable and a not favorable outcome. Sometimes the not so favorable thing happens. And it doesn't mean that the coach made the wrong decision. Sometimes the right decision doesn't work out.

I checked our RPI at warrennolan just for shits and giggles. It's pretty meaningless at this point but I wanted to see how our old friends Tulane and Kent State were doing. Kent has lost four straight and now sits at 6-8. First to a 200 plus Seton Hall team and this weekend has lost 3 straight to a 2-10 Northern Illinois team. Their RPI has dropped 125 points in the last week to 182. Honestly, I thought they were better than that. Tulane has gone 6-5 since our series (9-9 overall) and has been shutout twice this weekend by a good La Tech team. They wrap up that series tomorrow and then play LSU mid-week.

It's worked more than once. You haven't been paying attention. And what are the back fires? A bunt? Ok you win. A pop fly that should have been caught by not one but two people? What's the other? Bc if you say the play that debrule had you'd be wrong. We would have still been playing him to a major pull and we wouldn't have gotten a glove on it. So great 3 examples.

Homedawg

Here's something to think about lsu has a bunt single, a pop fly single that was a can of corn, an error that was ruled a hit as part of their what? 9 hits for the weekend?? This isn't a bad hitting team. And we have absolutely shut their butts down. Completely. And it's not like they have hard hit balls for outs. You can count those on less than one hand. We've pitched really well. .... master of the obvious.

If we don't have the shift on, Dubrule easily catches the pop fly last night. Surely you get that.

If your 2nd baseman is going to his right and having to make a throw that far from the other side of the 2nd base bag then it's not a proper shift. That was a routine ground ball tonight.
