So Logan Tanner has been seeing the ball well and we drop him in the order... I don’t like that... Even if it is for Hancock. Move Hancock to lead off or 2nd. With Debrule in the 1 or 2 hole.

trying to get a righty/lefty balance. I will say not much pop in the 8-9-1 spots.

our pitcher is on cruise control while theirs isn't fooling our hitters. I predict we run him when here in a few minutes after that GREAT Play in the outfield. I hope they leave him in. Ron Polk saw my post about him breathing into the mic, not hearing that today, good. Also, station breaks are silent, what's the purpose? Go Dogs! Do we take too many 3rd strikes? Scratch that about Ron, starting to hear the breathing again.

The problem with Fristoe is that he makes the game too boring. He pitches in the Kentucky strike zone. Coaches prefer being down by 4 and making panicked pitching changes with bases loaded and nobody out.

Forsythe's had a couple of hits today but his first ever chance in the field is an error. He's a plus defender from all accounts but it wasn't the easiest of chances. I still don't think he's the answer right now. You're essentially subbing Forsythe for Landon Jordan. Jordan has played pretty darn well in the field and is going to hit more than Forsythe. I think the move was moreso to clear James head.

Well been out running errands and just now at a computer but glad to see us have a relaxing win for a change. Didn't realize until listening to Bart and Charlie's show this morning that the pitcher Kent State started yesterday was actually their #1 guy. We made a bad tactical error pitching Cerantola against him if that is the case. EC never needs to go against another team's #1 because he needs too much room for error. EC is going to almost always give away 2 to 3 runs per game with wildness plus whatever he gives up from actually getting hit. We need to be pretty confident we can provide run support when EC is going to start which was not the case yesterday. Apparently the guy they pitched yesterday has been their #1 for a couple of years now.

HoopsDawg

Sims, our ace, with 0 leveraged innings this weekend. Not saying he should be a starter, but this is an example of why it has to be considererd. Lemonis has to regret not bringin him in after EC yesterday.

Yep, I asked the same thing in the game thread yesterday when we brought in Simmons instead. At that point we were still in the game at 4-1. Once it went to 7-1 we were toast.

We could've used him there. What if the game was 4-4 or us up 5-4 in the 5th today though? Having a multi-inning hoss bullpen guy is sometimes a tough decision on when to use him.

Well, it just seemed we surrendered yesterday's game. The issue was really trying to get out of that bases loaded no out jam that EC put us in, again. I would have been fine if we had just used Sims to try and get out of that inning with as little a damage as possible and then pulled him for possible use today. We only scored 2 runs through 8 though so it may not have mattered in the end who we pitched.

Yeah, we probably should've swept these guys but in all honesty, they're not a bad ball club at all. They have some big guys and some good athletes and played extremely well defensively this weekend and hit the ball hard. Their pitching is a little suspect outside of Albright but they'll win some games. We'll keep an eye on how they do moving forward but they're a decent mid major.

Somebody needs to tell me what we would receive if we would have swept this team like some of you claim we should have done. Maybe lemonis needed our hitters to see they can't wait around til the last innings to start being productive. Whatever it was we responded today in a way that was very authoritative. We are going to need our pitchers in June so that might mean giving some of them fewer innings now or weekends off. It's a long season. We have an ELITE staff. Give them the benefit of the doubt.

sorry for the hijack but I didn't wanna start a new thread on a Saturday Down South piece on the Pine Tar Incident during the Tulane Game Icaught on my phone while Googling. Could not get the URL to copy and when I went to the SDS website, could not find the piece. The narrator implies that Lemonis asked for a check because the guy was mowing our asses down and we were butt hurt about that. But video shows how he was fingering his glove with regularity and making sure the MSU dugout saw him doing it. When the Ump went out to check, he didn't seem to give a fiddler's fk if there was tar on the glove or not. Does anyone have any updates as to what the hell happened? That curve ball he was throwing seemed like it MUSTA been gettin' some heppin'.
