We are fourth in the sec in three point percentage at 34.9%. Fla leads the sec at 35.9%. Bama is second at 35.5.

But we are dead last in threes attempted per game. For comparison, we've shot 415 total and Bama has shot 812.

Iverson shoots 44.6% from three which leads the conference. Yet he is 30th in the sec attempts, at less than three a game. He alone should be shooting 6 a game. So should DJ, who shoots 36% from three.

Molinar and Stewart like to get the midrange jumper, so that's what they go for if given a shot. I prefer that with Stewart, but not Molinar. Molinar definitely needs to shoot more 3s. Hopefully next season d. Smith will drive and kick out to Molinar, a lot

Just need more coaching emphasis on it. Like yesterday it was obvious the emphasis was on getting the ball inside to tolu. That's fine. But there has to be the same emphasis on, we are getting Iverson 6 looks from deep. Here's how we are going to do it.

This has been my biggest gripe with this team. We are handicapping ourselves with the lack of threes.

Just as the most recent example, Auburn made the same number of shots as us and took two more shots overall, but they took 23 more threes and made 9 more than us. It's hard to win these days when you only take 10 threes, especially with our poor FT shooting and how often we turn it over (and turnovers weren't even an issue this time).

It's pretty much been proven that the likelihood of making a midrange shot is no better than making a 3, but you're only getting 2 points for a midrange shot. It just doesn't make sense. We're taking knives and clubs to a gunfight almost every game.

Personally, I think FT% and TOs are a much bigger issue than lack of 3-pt attempts. If we could raise our FT% to 70% and cut TOs down some, we'd be a handful

I agree, but free throws is going to take getting better at a skill. Statistically, the three point issue requires no getting better at it, just doing it more.

But yes, we are a tourney team if we shout free throws well and value the ball

TO's usually go down with more 3 point attempts. Howland emphasizes inside out play which is going to lead to more TO's.

That's a good point

TO by itself has cost us several games. A potential 4 point swing every time. If they are 3s a 6 pt swing. FT need to get up to 70% to not lose games but TO will yield defeat from the jaws of victory. TO also kill a teams energy really fast too. They are demoralizing when heavy amounts.
