We saw some interesting baseball across the country on this first weekend, especially across the Top 10. Here's how some of the notable Top 25 teams faired:

#1 Florida loses their opening series to #21 Miami. Florida gave up 23 runs in the series.
#2 UCLA loses its series to San Francisco. Definitely a troublesome opening weekend for them. Managed only 13 runs this weekend.
#3 Texas Tech got swept this weekend in our baseball showdown. Bad look for them.
#4 Vandy had 1 game canceled against Wright State. They are playing 2 today. Won the first convincingly and are struggling in game 2 up 1-0 in the 8th.
#5 Louisville swept Bellarmine this weekend.
#6 Ole Miss on their way to sweeping this weekend in the baseball showdown.
#9 Texas on the verge of being swept this weekend in the baseball showdown.
#12 LSU split 2 with Air Force, canceled with ND due to Covid, and are losing to La Tech early today. Possible 1-2 start for them.
#18 South Carolina sweeps Dayton in convincing fashion this weekend.
#19 Tennessee sweeps Georgia Southern.
#23 Auburn sweeps Presbyterian.

Overall I thought we looked good. Still early, but we pass the eye test as a team that can be there in the end. We are young in spots and that will cause us to lose some. But we've got enough pitching to compete with any team in the country. Good start for the Bulldogs!

Baseball America now has Ole Miss as the #1 team in America. I know they always start hot and blow it by the end of the season, it’s just really rough to live in Oxford and hear all the drooling right now.

Lol, if anything is certain in life, regardless of how many reg season games they win, OM will most certinaly pull off their patented post-season disappearing act...and probably in spectacular and hilarious fashion. Savor it.

Was State the only team with out the two starters on the mound?

It?s all fun and games until you?re locked in a battle to the death against a directional school in a home Regional.

New top 10? NCAA site doesn't update rankings anymore. It just links you to each sites page.

FL did not look like the #1 team in the country. Their pitching did look as good as advertised. Miami jumped to 7 from 21 after beating them. I’m and Ark deserve to 1 and 2 right now. Hopefully it won’t last. I think all those Texas we just played were over rated as usual.

We should have beat TCU. TCU had a chance against OM. Tech should have beat Ark before the implode in the 9th. It’s baseball...

Just think tho, we were down. 5 pitchers including our #2 and #3 starter. We threw a true freshman on Monday and a Soph on Sunday.

OM had one big arm that I saw. Nickhazy looked like shit. Hougland (sp) looked ok. I’m not too worried about them. We beat Texas ace and TCUs ace shut us down for the most part but we still had a chance at the end.

Did I mention we did this with misty no production from our 2-4 hitters in James, Allen, and Tanner

I would move the lineup around some and try

Debrulle
Rowdy
Allen
Hatcher
Tanner
Hancock
James
McGowan/Skinner (I think he takes it once healthy) he is elite defensively.

The TCU lose hurt for the day but looking back we learned so much from it. This was a crazy situation with players not playing in almost a year.. stepping into one of the nicest new ballparks in the mlb and a LHP pitcher who greatly improves his stock against us. That lose will not hurt us as much as we learned from it.

And you better believe as long as we are within less than 5 runs in the late innings, our boys will never be out of the fight.
