Jasmine Shavers from Mesquite, Texas definitely passes the eye test. She will be just a freshman next season...but, in my opinion Coach McCray Penson and the women's basketball program can ride this kid at some point. Impressive on defense as well.

Utilizing what Shavers and the other newcomers bring to the table, and successfully transitioning, mixing them in with the returnees are huge keys for Coach McCray-Penson next season. Temple transfer Ashley Jones expected eligible...at point guard working along with Myah Taylor...backcourt appears set to be stronger, deeper offensively. Defense from the guards...currently work in progress.

Jasmine Shaver's team, Mesquite Horn lost in the playoffs tonight against defending class 6a state champs Duncanville. She finished up her high school career tonight with 30 points in the loss. Again, Shavers can fill it up, including outstanding perimeter shooter, and outstanding one on one player. Also, have noticed..she's very good at manufacturing..making her way to the free throw line.

Reminds you of an explosive scorerer like the Arkansas guards over the past few years. Appears different style player though.
