Good thing we arent a South carolina board. Looks like Mike Bobo and Will Friend are headed to Auburn after being named to the staff at Sou Car when Beamer took the job. That would be melt down stuff here. And, rightfully so. But those guys are going to go where they think it helps their careers and ups their chances of winning. Just part of it.

Wasn't Bobo South Carolina's OC under Muschamp?

Also looking to target Derek Mason as the Auburn DC ... maybe another bullet dodged

They got fed the same BS we did when we hired Moorhead about Beamer taking less of a salary to hire top notch staff. And they end up with Bobo and Friend.

Is harsin his own OC? If he's actually the OC, bobo could be beneficial to his staff for sec experience. I don't like it if Bobo is the actual OC

South Carolina made a big mistake not hiring Chadwell. This is going to be a mess for them. Reminds me a lot of a Cohen hiring Moorhead over better prospects

Hiring BoBo as the OC probably isn't going over well on the plains.

Chadwell is a damn good coach but his baggage is what's keeping him from being hired

Yeah I knew he was former QB but I guess wasn't thinking that was enough if he was a good OC that they would care. We had people calling for Freeze earlier this year, not me though.

I was thinking more that his offenses have been meh and their fans want more of the sark and kiffin style.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be harsin's offense

He got something of a bad rap at UGA from their fans. His offenses at UGA were not bad - usually in the top 30 in scoring nationally. In '14 they were 8th, and 1st in the SEC. But, Bobo was limited to what Richt wanted to run as well, which was a traditional Pro-style offense with a power run game.

Yea especially since Bobo is a Georgia man, player and coach.

Kind of like Marcus Johnson here. That was hilarious.

Pat Dye played and graduated from UGA ... and if I remember correctly Vince Dooly played and graduated from AU

Correct. And fans were skeptical of both hires because of it. They both worked out and were great coaches. Both were also heavily considered for the other jobs too - Dooley almost left for Auburn in '81 (they made him a huge $ offer); Dye almost left to replace Dooley in '89.

I've always thought the "he played/coached at our rival" stuff to be overblown by fans.
