My younger sister, who works in health care, has contracted Covid. She's an extremely high risk person. Has everything from obesity to diabetes, to asthma and is just getting over brain surgery from last year. She luckily has had the first vaccine shot and is scheduled to get the monoclonal antibodies tomorrow.
Thanks

And add my mom too. She's living with her and has been helping her since the surgery, so she's been exposed. She's in her 70s.

Has your mom had the first vaccination too? Hopefully our inputs will help them make it through, and easily.

She hasn't. Isn't 75 yet. She's taking the Covid otc recommendations and I had her get some aspirin as well just in case.

Coot, sorry to hear. Prayers for all of you. Stay as positive as possible and keep faith. My father was hospitalized a couple weeks ago with it. He?s early 70?s and has a few conditions that are not great for Covid. He got antibodies and steroids and is slowly getting better. Caused a bladder infection and other minor issues too, but is improving.

Best wishes and Prayers.

ETA. Every day I talk/talked to my dad I told him to stay mentally positive, no matter how bad he felt. The mind can aid the body to overcome many things, if it stays positive.

Will do. I know a couple of high risk people who got but got over it w/o a lot of problems. Hopefully she will experience the same.

You'd think living with a person who works the "front line" would move the person into a higher priority than most (meaning, your Mom living with your sister).

I don't think we're up to the "75 and older" priority in Alabama yet, unless you're in a nursing home. Supposedly we have 300,000 health care and first responders in the state, but that sounds awfully high to me.

Mississippi is starting the 75+ this week. My mother is 92 and has her shot in 2 weeks.
