Just brutal their overall comments about Leach and Msu football!

They are making this out way worse than it really was, yes it was somewhat ugly but at least no one was killed, nothing destroyed. Never have been a fan of Herbie as he is soft and he went to a school I have never liked!

Yep we are Mississippi State and I am proud to have been born and raised in God's country!

One thing I will say about Leach, he doesn't care what others thing about him nor our program. Let's hope Cohen and administration stand up for him and back him up! It could be "politically iffy".

Mullen started a fight himself this year and where was this shit? Another reason I don't watch ESPN except for an occasional game.

Funny how Leach and his pirate shtick were the reason they televised so many of his west coast games. Now he's in MS and has right leaning political ideals & promotes thuggery.

I love how Tulsa gets a pass just because they're an irrelevant team from an irrelevant conference.

That?s why we can?t do stuff like Tulsa. It?s Tulsa! This isn?t Alabama or Florida but Tulsa. Last time we were on TV for fighting we fired Stans. I wonder if the same rules will apply to Leach. This is very embarrassing for the school and Leachs comments are even worse. Heath bragging about it on social media is the icing on the cake

NO the same rules won't apply because our guys were fighting TOGETHER for each other. I don't endorse what happened yesterday but its obvious we are unified as a team and have each others backs. When you know you have problems within your program is when there is in fighting like we had under Stans in Hawaii with teammates going at it in the stands or last year where our starting QB can't even play in the bowl game because his teammate broke his eye socket. I LIKE where our program is headed under Leach and the soft lefty ESPN media can stick it where the sun don't shine.

If anyone paid attention to Kirk, we wouldn't be playing college football right now.

Tom Rinaldi, who has been at ESPN for 19 years, is leaving for Fox Sports. That says a lot about how far ESPN has fallen. The college football games are the only reason I watch ESPN these days and I turn it on when the game is scheduled to start and turn it off once it's done.

ETA: Herbstreit has ruined College Game Day. Rece Davis is ok, I can take or leave Desmond Howard, and it's time for Lee Corso to retire.

No better time than now to rally together, push back and take a "handle it internally" approach. State will never get points or advance as long as it approaches these matters from a position of submission "we jist glad to be here." Our role in the scheme of things won't change until our admin stop publicly identifying with it.

Yeah, but we were fighting each other not another team. Stans had lost the team already. Leach has this team rallying around each other.

Leach's comments were just fine.

If it were embarrassing, we'd have put out a statement already. SEC hasn't commented either. It's no big deal. We won't hear about it again after today when the playoffs start.

I'm so sick of the soft sports media and the rest. Every program in this country has been involved in a scuffle. Byu and Memphis a couple years ago was way worse than this and hardly a word was said. NHL and mlb brawls are treated by Espn and the rest as part of the game and they make jokes about it. Herbie is a Pansy and hates the sec to begin with. Screw em all!

ESPN has been after Leach since the Texas Tech thing.

All our players should do is say that Tulsa called our players the N word (which they probably did anyway). All the soft leftwing media will shut up about it at that point.

Let us look at it. Before the game Tulsa comes over to where our Boys were working out and talks shit and acted like fools. Then after getting their butts beat, instead of going to,their dressing room—they come across the field and once again start shit. hell their Coach hit one of our players...Embarrassing you might say. I say embarrassing is the pitiful showing by Dan and the Gators. I’ll take an upset win and a little brawl than the embarrassing game the Gators played.

Stans didn't get fired for that fight. And why in the hell is this any more embarrassing than any other team getting in fights it happens all the time. I'm proud our guys stood up for themselves, Tulsa started it (see Pre-game) and we ended it.

Exactly! And people acting like they've never seen a fight in a game before. Geez the nhl built there popularity on fights.

This pearl clutching faux outrage is ridiculous. There wasn't a post game hit that hurt any more than any hit taken during the game. I don't condone the fighting, but it's not appalling either. Review, punish those that instigated, move in.

If the news cycle doesn't shift in the next 24 hours or so I say someone from our admin, or Leach, just issue a simple statement and a question "MSU does not condone fighting and will discipline internally any player fighting who was not defending themselves. Meanwhile, we ask the media to clarify why they call for our student athletes to lose their scholarships or be arrested, while never suggesting equal punitive action for professional baseball and hockey players who often fight during and after contests."

Did Herbie get emotional and start to have crocodile tears ?? he did it earlier this year..
and I said it in another thread ... Leach was a media darling and sound byte machine for anyone and everyone until about 2016....

What else do we expect from the hyper Covid media world we now live. I'm not even sure you can call it a fight. Dude got pads and helmet on. No one could even get hurt with this unless you are dumb enough to take your helmet off.

At this point, we should issue a statement and push back on ESPN for their crap. Although I think this all goes away after tonight. They are just pimping a story delaying for the big games tonight.

You know how many times Herbstreit would have mentioned the Armed Forces Bowl if there wasn't a scuffle? Zero. He overvalues himself way too much to comment on some small bowl game. **** him.
Also, Tim Brando referred to "defenseless" players in his Twitter diatribe about the scuffle. How are people wearing helmets and pads while swinging fists considered defenseless? I know Brando is an Ole Miss homer but what a ***** thing to say.

The Tulsa players weren?t on our side. Our
whole team went to their side, some to shake hands and say good game, but a few want to save the Tulsa boys souls. And then in the middle of the ?pray meeting? someone took offense to the prayer and a push here turned into a shove there. And then it blew up into a full-fledged Holy Ghost Revival.

Herbie ain't welcome in Starkvegas in my opinion. That was total trash putdown of MSU for no reason. You always have a few players on every team that can have bad behavior. He trashed our whole program, University, leadership, our young men, everything.

I am telling you no one out side of ESPN, media and the two fan bases care. So many fights break out during athletic events people are just numb to it. They just don't give a shit. Ya'll worry too much. I have 1000's of co workers who I trained in 12 different states that would be emailing me it it mattered out side Miss or the City of Tulsa.

Context that Enemy Media is not factoring:

Tulsa is the 2nd most penalized team in the Nation by yards (82 yards per game)

Last year, Tulsa was the 3rd most penalized

I just made a New Year's resolution never to listen to another word from Herbstreit's mouth and never watch Gameday again. Love the mute button and the Smithsonian channel comes in handy on Saturday mornings.

No worse than your lame assed takes on here. John Cohen said pretty much the same thing Leach said. SEC hasn't made a big deal out of it. Tulsa's coach basically said they'd fight anybody.

“This is a football game so we’re not going to be tearing cloth over this. Somebody went to a football game and somebody got hit,” Leach said, via Reddit CFB. “Ya know, there’s a point to where I’m not going to lose my mind over it.”

This is a very good response to MSU fans like me. As my Oklahoma friends say, Fat Herb can eat shit and die.

Seriously, this a tee-ball homerun for Leach to back his players. You really think Fat Herb really watched the game. That was a restive match with MSU's young kids being tested to retaliate versus a very practiced dirty team.
