Is that for the ones that are pretty disgusted (a lot seem not so upset) we lost to OM having a bad record, we get another couple chances to close the season on a not so bad note

I agree. I just hope we keep improving and Leach adds a "twist" for next year to help our offense keep folks guessing a little.

We would have gone at worst 6-6 this year under a normal schedule.

We didn't get a chance to work on our offense against the usual poor non conference competition. And that would have been paying dividends right now. That along with a normal years worth of practice.

I think both of our last 2 games are winnable. Auburn gets TAMU next week while we get an off week. Sets up favorably for us to give them a run for their money before we finish with Mizzou.

So what if we don't win the next two or even one? You guys happy with a two win season. Winning is the answer, not losing.

Beating non conference teams was never good enough during the Mullen era and now it would be?

You know the answer... most this board will justify getting beat by 30 by mizzou and auburn

Win or lose, we just need to keep playing. Keep getting experience against different defensive coverages and situations.

We picked up one of our sec wins bc of the covid schedule. NC state is 7-3. Maybe we would've gone 6-6, but I hardly say "at worst"

It would have been at worst. We beat Kentucky playing them later in the season in terms of games and potentially Arkansas as well. I think the same if Ole Miss is our 12th game and not our 8th game. Missouri will be a normal test as far as time into the season we would play them. If you think Missouri beats us by 30 then I can't help you. That won't happen. I don't think Auburn does either. Both will be close.

Additionally, I'm not counting those potential non conference games in favor of Leach. I'm counting them more as experience that would have helped us later in the season under our normal schedule. Ole Miss defense is terrible. But no one said shit after we put 24 up on Georgia and were tied with them in Athens at the end of 3. Bama and Florida were the only teams to score more this year.

I think folks are confusing our recognition of progress with happiness. None of us think we won last night or are claiming moral victory. But I think those that want Leach to fail and think this offense won't work in the SEC are reconsidering their stance. There are probably zero middle tier SEC teams that will find sustained success with a freshman starting QB, RB, and leading WR. Just doesn't happen.

Dude, Mullen made a living beating non conference teams... He won’t he games he was suppose to and lost the games he was suppose to. Don’t act like Mullen had a winning SEC record every yr...

So what beating non conference games, wake me up with another we had that had success like Mullen. You Mullen haters don't live in the real world, Mullen did more for our football program in my lifetime than any Coach ever, only one close was JWS who we all loved.

Since we are on a roll like "best friends", do you think we will win another game this year? We sure need to win one but mostly both, I would feel better with two wins.

Shit no I won't be happy. Winning is the goal. But as bad as we sucked last year and this year, right now I'm just holding out for hope. I hate some of you guys can't see that but oh well. You'll never be happy because we ain't competing for the SEC anytime soon.

If I were betting, I'd say 0-2. Mizzou is #1 in the sec in pass defense. #2 and 3 are Kentucky and Bama, who shut us out offensively. Maybe auburn quits, and we can steal one from them.

We're better on offense right now than we've been since 2017. That's how bad JoMo was

What are basing us being better than last year offensively on?

What are basing us being better than last year offensively on?

The fact that we actually move the ball through our scheme vs the QB just scrambling.

Our best offense for two years under Moorhead as the QB scrambling. That's not a system or sustainable.

Currently, we're moving the ball through the scheme, which is a huge step forward. Improv is not an offense, but that's basically all we were doing under Jomo

We need to win one of the last two. Moral victories have a limited lifespan.

That said, I have seen enough from us the last two games to feel like we CAN win another game or two. Just need to do it.

If we don?t, I mean there is no way around 2-8 being a disappointing year. But it doesn?t change anything in regard to Leach long term. It?s been known for a while that this year just is what it is, and Years 2 and 3 are probably going to be better indicators of what Leach is at this stage of his career.

No doubt 2 or 3 years we will know. I think Auburn will be our best bet, but we really need to win the next two, they are home and with another week off how much practice do we need to prepare* I mean some say we haven't had enough time, well after KJ threw 6 interceptions and Leach would have changed QB's improvements would have been earlier.
