View Full Version : Looks like the Tua Bubble Is About To Burst

As I've said for 3 years, he isn't very good.

Never ever ever draft an Alabama QB with their current talent level. You simply have no idea what you're getting.

For Patriots GM Michael Lombardi sees it like I do. Good listen

He probably has the worst skill player group in the league.

But that's not the point. Tua lacks tools. Arm strength, mobility, & size are all meh

I've always thought the same thing myself. When's the last time a bama qb was a successful nfl qb?

McCarron starting a game for the Bengals last year was the 1st game a Bama QB had started in the NFL in about 30 years.

I'll hold off judgement until next year. He did look great against Arizona.

That's right. Forgot he started he few games.

I don't bang Bama that much about it, because in general QBs come from every where.

The only schools to produce a number of NFL QBs are USC and everyone else seems to produce at max 2 or so.

Tua's comment a week or two ago about the adjustment to the NFL being "easy" is looking pretty awkward about now.

Agreed..... The Big 12 and PAC 14 are glorified qb factories. Oklahoma has been the most recent. Typically, pass heavy / limited defense leagues. The SEC is known for RBs and defense.

But even most of that USC pipeline were also busts

Oklahoma has only produced Kyler, Baker, & Bradford, which is more than anyone else, but still only 1 of those guys appears to be a long term starter.

Michigan produced Brady & Greise, but that's been a while

NC State has produced Rivers, Glennon, & I give them credit for Russell Wilson

Kyler or Baker? Which one do you see as long term? Also, Cal has two qbs in the league with Goff and Rodgers.

I also want nothing to do with their OL. Most are either busts or never live up to their hype.

It's not like they have been producing guys that looked like NFL players though. Tua is really the first one to put up big stats that I remember people hyping as a high draft pick. I thought McCarron was always thought of as a game manager despite putting up solid stats. He was a guy that maybe had he gone somewhere that he hadn't gotten to play on easy mode for college, he might would have developed. But mostly despite their recruiting rankings, I don't remember a lot of 5* qb talents going there, or if they did, making it past their first year or two and into the starting lineup.

With the way Wentz is playing in Philadelphia, we may see ex-Bama QB Jalen Hurts playing soon.

But he stinks. That won't last long. Not near accurate enough for that league

Tua was limping with that repaired hip before he was pulled. They just covered it up with some other excuse to save face. He?s made of glass

Burrow
Tua
Trask

Your batting average for who isn't a good QB isn't good and is borderline absurd.

I?m not a Trask guy. Burrow obviously got much better. I’ve always thought Tua blew

Tua thru first 4 nfl starts (and limited action vs jets) coming off a major injury with 0 training camp...

60/97 (.619) 602 yds 6 td 0 int
100.1 passer rating

I'm not a big tua guy, but declaring him a bust this soon is beyond idiotic.

The stats aren't bad, but the early reviews from people I respect are not good.
