View Full Version : Couple positives in Covid football year for MSU

Leach has a chance to turn things in the right direction with this year of Covid football. It is probably a good year for us to have made the change. Couple things we should or must do this season.

1. He must clean up the culture. Looks like he is on his way to doing this. In the era of transfer portal, we might could pick up some guys to help us too.

2. Play the freshmen and young players. The players get a free year this year. This is a good way to flip our situation with our team.

3. He gets a mulligan this year to figure some things out. He must figure it out though. We can't have the experimenting linger 2-3 years. What I mean is he needs to figure it out and then get busy doing what he sees will work.

Maybe there are a few other things? Just some quick thoughts.

Regarding 1: the transfer portal can kiss my ass. Who have we gotten that helped in any way? Ruiz, I guess. Who else?

TBD on Shavers. But yeah, to date, Ruiz is probably our best transfer portal player. KJ did get us a win at Baton Rouge that probably wouldn't have happened otherwise. Thank goodness we played that game as our season opener. Even Pelini wouldn't be dumb enough to play us man to man now.

Typical players hit the transfer portal because they couldn't make the two deep on their current roster. It's hit and miss on what you're getting.

Don't discount players at smaller schools with high production hit the portal as well.

I think it is where we can make a few good moves. We aren't getting Joe Burrow transfer. It really hasn't been a boom everyone things it has. How did Kelly Bryant work out at Mizzou?

Part of transfer portal is our fault. Zuber catches 50 passes at KSU and we turn him into a ST player.

The free season also we should be after the top JUCO like we always do. MSU has made a living off star JUCO.
