Dude can coach and did nothing no one else does, except maybe the hookers for fruits but I wouldn’t put it past some schools. He fell on the blade, took his buy out, kept his mouth shut, and moved on.

If he would bring in a decent D Cord who can recruit, I would hire him in a second.

War Eagle or Geaux Tiger?

God I hope not Auburn. They would be something else the way they like to cheat and never get caught.

It would be funny tho to watch him whoop Kiffens ass tho and let Ole Miss implode...

Face it he is good coach. He could be Auburn's next coach.

I bet he ends up at Auburn, next year.

He is going to Auburn.

Auburn doesn't care about cheating. Hell they are tied with SMU for most TV bans. Bothe tied at second, behind Old Miss.

Freeze will make his way back to a P5 within 2 years most likely. I think Auburn is going to finally fire the GusBus after this season- that hire will be interesting. SC may part ways with Boom. I cant see Vandy going another year without changing coaches.

Big Auburn booster friend of mine is high on freeze. Even compared hiring him to taking a chance with Bruce pearl. Might be something to watch.

I bet Auburn has already reached out to him. The way he beat Bama at om makes him a shoo in on The Plains.

Boy, Auburn hiring Hey Huge would put the NCAA and SEC office in a real pickle with one of their favored programs

The only reason I could see him not ending up at auburn would be Saban pitching too big a fit to the SEC office. Its such a natural fit and I'll hate every bit of it but there is no question auburn and hugh are passing eyes at each other.

If Saban can block it Freeze might end up at South Carolina. That could benefit the SEC if he can build the Gamecocks into a good enough contender to sometimes beat Clemson. He also fits South Carolina's typical hiring model of a retread. And Billy Napier hasn't been helping his cause lately.

He'll probably end up at Auburn if Sankey allows it- which I think is another major hurdle.

You actually made that your ~97th post... really? Lemme guess, you're in that "Roy Kramer helped Bammer" Club, too, right????

He has served his Show Cause time so I'm not sure the conference office has a legal leg to stand on .... I think you might not be far off with the South Carolina thinking and I believe we will see him in the conference again for sure ... some desperate AD will take a chance for sure

The guy can coach...I’ll be interested to see if he will stick with his holier than thou shtick when he comes back or if he realizes that, at least in the eyes of people who have eyes, that won’t fly for him any longer.

(I’m not commenting on his personal beliefs or salvation just saying that after what went down nobody will want to listen to his preaching...right or wrong)

It won't be an official intervention. If the league has info on escorts and recruits, Sankey can almost certainly keep him out (and the only reason not certainly is that Auburn would be the one school that might be willing to accept that risk). If all they have is what is public, then he won't be able to stop an SEC team from hiring him.

OM would hire him back in a heartbeat.

Just for the **** of it..

Freeze - Aub.. still can’t believe Memphis didn’t close that deal with Hugh.. I guess Fed Ex has more pull at Oxford than Memphis
Rich Rod and brings in JRP - USM ( and that should happen if Jermey McClain had any pull as AD)
Urban - Texas.. if his “Health” is ok..
Odom / Briles combo - Cocks ..
Riley - Houston Texans
Kiffin - Oklahoma
Mark Richt- OM

Like I said .. just for the **** of it...

I think you meant to say Nick Saban isn't going to let Greg Sankey allow Hugh Freeze back into the SEC.**

And yes Hugh is a solid coach for sure
But everyone does understand that Turner Gill went 6-6 the first year liberty made the jump from FCS to D1 in 2018
That’s just as impressive IMO

I'll take a stab at this:

Auburn- Freeze. There's too much smoke already
USCe- Boom. I somehow think he's going to find a way to keep his job...at least til next year. Then I think it's Napier.
Texas-Urban. This one is already signed, sealed, delivered.
USM- Will Hall. This needs to be the hire. They don't have the money for Rich Rod and Hall would immediately make them competitive again.
Texans- Mullen. If he's gonna make the jump this is his shot.
Florida-Mark Stoops
Kentucky- Barry Odom/Briles

And to make things really crazy....MSU OC-Art Briles. And yes this is a rumor I heard yesterday.

MSU OC-Art Briles. And yes this is a rumor I heard yesterday.

I doubt this happens, but it's worth noting that Art Briles owes his career to Leach, who gave him his first college job when Leach made him his RB coach at Tech for 3 years.

Not sure of their current relationship, but I fairly likely that Leach and Briles do have some sort of significant relationship.

In many way, Kendall Briles coming to Starkville, if only for year, would help Leach turn the air raid 1.0 into the Air Raid 2.0. Would be a great fit

The relationship is there, but I'm very skeptical. If anything it could've just been a name thrown out to calm people down knowing there's no way it happens. I mean Cohen handled what I would consider a media rain shower poorly with the Leach tweet. I seriously doubt he could handle the media firestorm that would come with hiring Art Briles. However, if Leach would agree to bringing in an OC I think you'd have to give him a look. Off the field issues aside, he's a hell of a play caller.

Steven Godfrey said as much on Nashville sports radio today. Said Sankey "loathes" Freeze.

I don't see how the SEC Office could actually stop an SEC school from hiring Freeze, but they could highly recommend, if they wanted too, that a school doesn't hire him. If you are an SEC school, I doubt you want to not have the blessings of the SEC Office, and/or be on their bad list.

Right now, I could argue that Greg Sankey is the most powerful man in not just college football, but all of college athletics. If all the stuff is true about Sankey not liking Freeze is true then any athletic dept. that hires him in the SEC is asking to be screwed at every juncture for the entirety of his employment. No amount of Sexton marketing and Hugh's second chance speeches would help that. I'd imagine Sankey feels that Hugh put a black mark on the conference with the scandal and he doesn't want to give him another chance to do it again. Also, the average football fan only knows about 5-10% of the stuff that was going on in Oxford during Freeze's tenure. And as plugged in as he is, HE KNOWS IT ALL.

I imagine at least part of the reason is no one wants to risk being the one who opens that Pandora's Box, which could extend beyond Freeze and OM.

Then again it could just be the media's nonsensical love affair with OM.

Freeze would have a longer leash at Auburn by the NCAA. I could see him making Auburn as good as Bama for a few years, but eventually the probation will come.

Auburn cheats like all the other SEC schools do, just on steroids. And the SEC retreads cheaters all the time.

But yet the SEC intervened when Alabama looked at hiring Hugh. Which seems to indicate there's something else the SEC knows about with Hugh.

The only caveat to that is that supposedly a lot of massage parlors use trafficked women that are basically sex slaves, so maybe Sankey views the escort thing as something akin to rape and therefore personally hates Freeze.
