The self imposed penalties will be accepted by the NCAA. Nothing else will happen.

I do not know why the OBJ thing was a deal. As soon as time hit 0:00 they were no longer players.

I don't think all of them were seniors that he gave bills to.

If they're self imposing 8, that means if the NCAA really investigated and found what LSU had found, it would have been 16.

We are the only school that would impose the exact same number the NCAA would impose. Everybody else would impose half of what the NCAA would give.

Sure they were. He gave money to lots of people. Not all srs. And all were still student athletes at the time. Now on the grand scale, it's not a huge deal but can't let that happen, especially in public.

FBI has their bball coach, on tape, talking about paying a recruit, FB player was recently accused of rape, and the coaches knew about it... but you think they are in trouble for OJB passing out money to graduates? Hahahahahahaha

If you are talking to me, no. That's not the reason. It was window dressing. But the point is it's still illegal. Hell we got in trouble for one of our alums meeting Doug buckles. So there's that....

If I remember correctly one of our players who was hosting Buckles gave him 20 bucks so he could eat lunch at Oby's or somewhere like that when he didn't have enough money or something like that. And we got penalized for that. Such BS.

Why in the world would you assume that I was talking to you? I was addressing the original poster.

Not sure what the legalistic piece of the rule says but I disagree. It is a big deal to hand out money right after a game. It could appear like payment on a deal made.

Put it this way. So if it is OK then in the future all seniors on the last game will get a payout in front of everyone for their services.

Just because something is legal, doesn't make it right or morally correct.

Doug Buckles is an MSU recruiting trigger word.

I hope it was so much money that they are still basking in it, because if not, 17 'em. Traitors for a quick buck... allegedly. My kids would attend OM over my dead body... or $5MM. Lol

And to think, we cut ties and banned a booster for life after giving money after a game. We certainly go above and beyond to hurt ourselves.

I’m still pissed we didn’t offer $1,000 more to Cam.

Just to be honest
