Saw where he died. Would have been 92 in a few days. Was a good one and a competitor.

He wasn't an overpowering pitcher, but had great control and threw a lot of stuff.

Yeah didn't throw hard at all but nothing he threw was straight. Love watching pitchers like that work.

Very underrated pitcher. He was the Yankees best pitcher in the 50's and Stengel would save him for their biggest games.

Dude was always at his best in the biggest games.

And that actually in an odd way kept him from getting the 300 win plateau and more long term recognition because that what he was saved for. He won 25 games after Stengel left and he was used conventionally.

Missing 2 seasons for Korea probably cost him 30+ wins.
