Aaron Downs, plays at Heritage Academy. Moved down here from Iowa (without his parents apparently) to play baseball. Was committed to Louisville at one time.

Will apparently be a big draft risk and the fact that he moved south to play baseball makes me concerned that he is dead set on pro baseball. Maybe some around the Columbus area can shed some light.

Talented kid. Relatively polished. Still needs to clean some things up.

Average arm defensively
+hitter

Think he's a top 5-7 round talent when it is all said and done.

Don't think it's a forgone conclusion he's gone though.

I think he comes to school. He's listed at 5'11" and he's a corner guy. I agree that 5-7 is a reasonable projection and he looks mature for his age so I'm not sure that is going to fill out much more than he is now.

The guys that I'm excited about are Hunter Hines for 2021 and Jay Murdock for 2022. Big left hand power bats. Hines has good bloodlines too. His Dad was an All American at Mississippi College.

Pretty big draft risk.

2nd-4th round potential.

Will come down to $

That surprises me. Is he way advanced as a hitter?

Next years draft will be much different. Lots and lots of older guys who would have gone this year will go next year. This pushes semi good players down the draft toward 10th round - 15th round.

Slightly under the radar but has gotten some Austin Riley comparisons

He's not a 2nd round guy....4-6. 5-7 is more reasonable.

It'll be interesting to see where it ends up. Just telling you what I've heard

Imo, no. He does have some tools and some pop in the bat but I don't think he's 1-3rd Round hitter.

He's also coming off an injury. Solid player though and would be terrific to get him on campus.

He reminds me more of Tyler O'Neill than Austin Riley.

I agree. But as always it comes down to his price that he wants from MLB.

Welcome aboard

Keep signing talent and let the chips fall where they do. The next mlb draft or two will be very deep.
