I know that Pat Forde broke the news a while ago about the telephone call where Wade mentioned a "strong ass offer". Shortly after LSU suspended him and then unsuspended him shortly after but is the 11 players receiving benefits new?

Usually teams like Auburn, LSU are never held accountable but seems like LSU will probably get a deal like Ole Miss got in football for this. That being said, you'd think they'd end up being worse off since they let Wade continue coaching. Any of y'all that get on tiger droppings, what are they saying over there?

Here is the article that came out on BR today.

LSU has received a notice of allegations from sometime back, they haven't made it public. I read another article this morning saying that the NCAA is turning the results of their investigation over to an independent committee to make a decision on guilt or innocence according to NCAA regulations. I think this committee will also recommend suitable punishment according to NCAA guidelines.
This committee is part of the reforms that were suggested by the study committee that was formed to review NCAA performance. This committee was chaired by Condoleezza Rice. If your interested here is a link to today's Steve Robertson's podcast, which is free.

Smart still playing (never stopped, did he?). Wade still coaching. I think they’re recruiting hasn’t missed a beat, including big name out-of-towners. How could they possibly be in much trouble?

It’s a travesty but it’s why more and more I find myself replacing college sports with other hobbies.

I think they are denying everything no matter what the evidence. So that is why.

One lesson we should have learned from the UM situation, don't cooperate with the NCAA. Bjork fought them all the way, and they got minor penalties (compared to the infractions). We self report and get slammed.

Don't lay down.

UNC had a worse cheating scandal than us and got zero penalties, we cooperated and got hammered.
