Ol Hudspeth talked about how he handled halftime last weekend. He was calm and collected, didn't yell at his players, but he focused on what needed to be corrected, and what just needed better execution. HMMM...that's something our coaches don't seem to do at halftime. He's sharp. For those who want to hear - http://youtu.be/SYG_EguoI4M

Engie, many here and other sites have questioned Hud's recruiting, but hasn't Bartoo shown he has improved recruiting greatly at ULL?

Let's hire him based on a five minute sound bite, dad gummit! Oh yeah, Seymour, have you watched him bench press? I hear ULL, I mean University of Louisiana is moping up recruiting against McNeese State and Nichols St.,couple that with fact we can hire as UWA assistant and get EMMC video guy to boot... Heck, we be competing with Alabamer in no time... Yeeee Haaawww!

Yes.

Their 4-yr recruiting mean average pre-Hudspeth was #114.

His class was CFBmatrix composite #73 last year. He's recruiting 40+ spots above their norm....

That was probably ALOT funnier in your head.

About as funny as your logic to hire another coach at this point...

Hud builds a house for the homeless every night before he goes to sleep also

The guy that pats himself on the back for being "right" by calling for 6-6 with a team that went 8-4 REALLY wants to debate logic?

The stone in the shoe: If Mullen was terminated with extreme prejudice, and MH turned State down, who would be the next candidate. I maintain that it would be a fiasco. All this discontent and disappointment seems to assume that he would take the job. If he is not a certainty, then Mullen should probably be retained regardless of next four games but surely others would disagree.

I cant see us running Mullen off unless Hud has agreed to take the job

I bet he just puts on his cape and flies to Starkville.

Would that scenario be similar to Auburn pursuing Petrino when Tubby was still the corch. If so, it would not be good.

Naw, he just bench presses the earth. It only looks like he's flying.

while I agree, it just seems he would resonate well with many groups.....

After listening to the press conference I must say he's far more coherent than Mullen. I'm really starting to warm up to the Hud idea.

Anyone else think Hud's OC here would be Will Hall, HC at West Alabama?. HUD coached him at UNA where Hall won the Harlon Hill trophy. (D2 Heisman) Hall is son of Bobby Hall, HC at Madison Central.

No. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a position coach for him though...

You can basically bet the OC will be either Kenny Edenfield or Steve Campbell... Buddy Stevens name would probably come up as well...

you can just about bet on Hall being the offensive coordinator. Campbell would most likely be approached about oline job.

Campbell already turned down the OL job at Auburn. He's not likely leaving Gulf Coast unless he's got a coordinator title and some power.

Why would we make the least proven guy of the group OC? Let's keep in mind that Hud was WAY more proven than Hall when he took the role of WR coach/passing game coordinator here...

Let's also drop the notion of hiring a OC what seems like a good up and comer. **** that. We've got to pay up for a good staff.
