Saints' Tommy Stevens is a TE now. Jared Cook sees 'a lot of improvement' early in his transition https://www.nola.com/sports/saints/article_d97f667e-ddb1-11ea-bc5f-2f40a5ad0d40.html

What did Stevens show that Fitz didn't?

But can he stay healthy? He didn't do a good job of that at State.

Taysom Hill was the most injured player in CFB history. Season ending injuries 4 of 5 years at BYU.

Stevens is a good bit more athletic than Fitz.

40 - 4.49 vs 4.64
Shuttle - 4.19 vs 4.56
3 cone - 7.09 vs 7.42
Vert - 34.5 vs 29.5
BP - 19 vs NA
Broad jump - 9?8" vs NA

I want to say Payton had him run some routes and send a video too or something and liked what he saw.

..... and yet Fitz has many many P5 wins as a starter over his college career. Tommy boy has...... 1. I hope the Razorbacks find their way onto the Saints schedule.

This. Unfortunately

Fitz ran the ball right down the throat of many SEC defenses. Tommy did not.

WTF? Be happy another MSU player is in the NFL. It's not his fault that Moorhead was a complete clown and got hurt because one of our out of shape linemen (also because of Joe) missed a blocking assignment against USM and he got hurt.

I didn't take it as him dogging Tommy. Just a reflection on his career unfortunately.

I fail to see the relevance of number of wins in playing in the NFL at a new position. Blake Simms has more wins than Mahomes. Which is the better qb?

Too bad the xfl folded, Fitz might have eventually got some playing time.

The relevance is 40 times and long jump numbers don't always tell you the best player. Fitz was the better college player and it isn't even close. Maybe Stevens finds some toughness and has a better nfl career but ..... Stevens career so far says he is fragile and can't stay on the field.

You are right. I should haven't said anything.

I was high on the guy on last summer. This summer I can't stand him. He did much of nothing at MSU but take a spot from KT. Hindsight is 20/20 i know. But we were stuck with a freshman QB in the most meaningful games last year because of Stevens.

Tommy had very little pocket awareness. That's what got him hurt. Saw it in the very first game.
