Big mistake from Malik, but cutting him would be too severe. Also, would need more details as far as level of intoxification. Under 21 is basically 1 beer.

in previous years we always got the suspensions in on the first game of the year against an OOC cupcake ... this year the suspensions will come against a conference opponent - I'm sure he will get a game or two suspension

According to Mobile Patrol... he only spent 4 hours in the pokey.... you have to go speed limit on Hwy 25 in Winston County.

Why would they even need to do that. Make him run steps till he pukes every day for a week.

DEPENDING on the circumstances, Just make him serve an internal punishment. Nothing else to see here.

I'd imagine he's going to have a fun few days on the Leach Beach by himself. Hell, Capt. Mike might even make an appearance.

Anthony Dixon did the same thing right before school started his senior year. I think Mullen sat him for 1-2 games.

Can't remember but didn't that suspension prevent him from some rushing record.

In Leach's book he talks about his favorite punishment being running around campus (to every building or something like that) holding a cinder block over your head. He has some name for it.

I believe that he would have set the MSU season record by rushing for his average yards and it was against a crap opponent.

Louisville is the biggest speed trap in the state of Mississippi. I think it's actually worse when it's not a gameday at MSU because with less traffic they can single out people more.

Has anyone used the waze app- it's pretty good for figuring out where the police are. Speeding tickets are basically a racket for the police department to make money. If they want to help improve things with the community they need to start going lax on those.

Yep Louisville is terrible they've got me twice over the years. The only place worse in the state is Beaumont. It goes from 55 to 45 to 35 to 25 and they'll bust you for one mph over. Haven't got busted there yet but many people I know have.

I'm always leery in those small towns where the speed limit changes like that for a quarter of a mile and then goes back up 25 MPH. Actually that sounds like Louisville come to think of it.

I got a ticket in Louisville for going like 2 MPH over the speed limit. Ever since then I have done my very best to avoid stopping and spending money there. Hope they had an awesome Christmas party though with my ticket money!

You are a nut if you think traffic enforcement is a bad thing. Where I live the police are so understaffed and there is so much major crime there basically is no traffic enforcement. There is a jackaloon who runs his crotch rocket 40-50 miles an hour down the streets of my residential neighborhood. Idiots go zooming down other streets 20-30 miles an hour over the limit. Red lights and stop signs are considered optional here.

Mathiston will give any speed trap in this state a run for their money. 65 to 55 to 45 and the cops are always sitting on top of the hill where it changes from 55 to 45 waiting to bust you. They'll also get you going out because it stays 45 til you get over the bridge.

Couple of well placed tree branches should fix that :). On my street it's always the cops going 60 mph on a 20 mph street in front of the school. No lights or anything.

StarkVegasSteve - damn you for reminding me of Mathiston. Had finally purged that highway of hell from my brain.

Can't beat the reform AL speed trap either. The stretch from Columbus to T Town is pretty rough.

The Macon 4-way stop sign on Hwy 45 south. Local fuzz hides behind the gas station and waits for people to roll the stop.

Yeah I forgot about that one, it's a bad stretch! I got stopped coming out of Opp, Alabama about a year ago. Hadn't seen a speed limit sign for miles and my gps said 55. Dude said it's 45. I showed him my gps. He let me off with a warning cause we started talking baseball.

Haven't got busted there yet but many people I know have. Who is writing tickets in Beaumont? Locals don't have radar. HP stays on 98 which bypasses Beaumont for the last 20 years or so. I grew up in Beaumont, my parents still live there and I have literally never seen anyone pulled over in town since I was day drinking and doing donuts in the middle of 98 back in the 80's.

With Leach? I think that's one of the things he's pretty harsh on, isn't it? If he gets the DUI and it was after the first team meeting with Leach, I think it's a one game suspension minimum.
