Agree, while the start of this virus in humans may not have originally been intentional, there is no doubt that the Chinese Government (the real culprit here) chose to spread this around the world while at the same time trying to protect their own population. When China would not allow any flights domestically in and out of Wuhan but would allow all international travel in and out of there I'm not sure what other conclusion there is to come to?

And here is the direct result of the fear that media members have been propagating for the last 6 months. Why? It gets clicks and it sells advertising. Unfortunately there is a large swath of assholes in America that despise organized sports. Most of these are basement dwelling trolls that feed the cancel culture running through America right now.

And the end of the day university presidents are bowing to social media pressure and fear for their jobs. And let’s be honest here...everyone with any common sense knows why we are being bombarded with hot take headlines.

It’s going to be interesting when a bunch of the college football fearporn “journalists” are out of jobs. I wonder if the tune will change at that point?

Your masters in the media will stop covering it. It will slide down the pole of importance. Anything that makes Orange Man Bad is in play. After November 3rd it's on to something else whether he wins or not. And they certainly aren't going to make COVID an issue Biden has to deal with. The number of infections and deaths will all of sudden become less important to report especially on a national level. You just wait and see.

Well, one candidate needs to learn how to drink a glass of water and walk down an inclined surface like a normal human being, and not an invalid, before you accuse the other candidate of mental decline. You?re actually missing the point big time. Go read about mob mentality/psychology and group think. Or better yet read 1984.

The reality is that the media feeds the masses whatever it wants to and social media amplifies that message times 100. It doesn?t matter what is true only what is being told. The truth becomes irrelevant. When you place cancel culture into an environment like that then you have a recipe for disaster because what the group thinks is what is right and if you have an alternate opinion then your life or business is destroyed (both literally and figuratively). The supposedly unbiased media usually walks lock-step with those canceling people as well and, in turn, amplifies cancel culture. It?s a symbiotic relationship that can 100% destroy anything...and politicians, celebrities, journalists, you name it are scared shitless of that. So the message is repeated and repeated until the truth and neutrality is gone and only the group message remains.

One of the biggest cancel culture movements going right now is trying to cancel our President and the media is complicit in this (outside of Fox News -which is a whole other issue). I don?t agree with everything he does but a lot of what is happening right now is an attempt to break him and impact the elections. It?s kind of obvious. But more devious and despicable to me is the underlying movement to cancel America. It?s happening right now. Quickly.

?Every record has been destroyed, or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped.? - Orwell

Middle ground? Extremes? POTUS being cancelled? Impact elections (lol!)?

Think about those words in reference to your previous post. Again...irony.

BeardoMSU and Dawgology, you are both right, and both wrong.

Sure, Football being cancelled is the choice of conference officials, media talking heads have no authority over that issue. On the other hand, it's undeniable that social media can persuade and pressure leaders into making decisions that they wouldn't want to make had they not been pushed. An agenda was handed down from somewhere to some media members(who have an indirect, collective audience of tens of millions, if you follow college football at all you have heard something about this in the last 48 hours) and it has been pushed, they are just doing their jobs, reporting information that they receive. Maybe it was from the conference officials in order to prepare the masses for the inevitable, or maybe just to gauge popular opinion before making the call. Maybe it was from government agencies in order to put pressure on conference officials to cancel the season. I really don't know and never will. However, i do know that certain media members were pushing an agenda, and I do know that if the CFB season is canceled, it wasn't their fault. Don't kill the messenger, it's literally their job to be mouth pieces.

Are democrats exaggerating all things COVID and causing as much chaos and tension as possible in order to cancel Trump as president? No, COVID is real and so are the other issues being sensationalized across the country. On the other hand, I do know that the Dems despise the republican party and more specifically Donald Trump with everything they have. I do know that their is an election in November they desperately want to win, and I do know they will take advantage of whatever current issues they can in order to give themselves an edge, it's called trying to win, and you are kidding yourselves if you believe both sides aren't just as guilty of this.

In reality, we are where we are in America today because of the system that we follow. There is no middle ground, that's the problem, and it's undeniable. It started hundreds of years ago when our fore fathers created the two party system. We live in a binary society where on every issue, there are only two paths, one is red, one is blue, there is no in between. You check 1 box and you are checking 100s of sub boxes, with a lot of them having nothing to do with politics, you have no choice, voting for this side means voting for everything it stands for, even if you don't. Instead of having our own opinions against the grain of your party, we just accept that these are our beliefs and blindly fight for them. This creates division, hatred, and deception. We are 2 countries all living amongst each other inside the same border, and we are at digital Civil War.

Social Media and party backed News outlets have brought all of this to a boiling point. People across America spend large portions of their days mindlessly scrolling through social media and believe everything they see because they only follow people that say things they want to believe. Social media censors what you read, and what you can say, therefore what you believe. Anything you say on social media can be seen by anyone with internet access in the world, meaning someone will be offended and you will be beaten into submission by people who's beliefs align with the offended, muzzling true self expression. Party backed News Outlets control the lens you see the world and country through, on both sides. We have no choice, there is no news anymore, there is just red and blue propaganda. Either don't watch the news, or be brainwashed and spoon fed what your party wants you to believe. It's all built on hatred and greed, the two main causes of war. News outlet says it, follower then goes to social media and relay the message, and the cycle of party fed information trickles down through society over and over. How often do you hear someone say, "I heard(insert info here)", where did they hear it, probably somewhere on social media, which they heard from someone who heard it or read it on some biased news site/channel, its truly the age of misinformation, aka propaganda.

We the people are no longer in control, we are pitted against each other, and handed pitchforks and torches by the parties we represent. Both sides are equally wrong, both sides are equally guilty. Both sides are the cause and the effect of a binary society, it's a downward spiral with no end in sight.

Somewhere along the way we quit being Americans, and started being Democrats or Republicans.

We no longer compromise, we escalate.
We no longer respect, we degrade.
We no longer think, we are told.
We no longer communicate, we hide behind screens.
We no longer listen, we interrupt or impatiently wait until its our turn to spew BS.
We no longer decide, we blindly follow.
We are no longer under God, but instead under pressure to be neutral in our beliefs.
We no longer seek justice, but instead seek revenge.
We are no longer free, but instead prisoners of our own "side".
We no longer are one nation, but instead two clans in perpetual war.

It's a mess and it's hard to believe how lost we have become. The party leaders have used and abused their two platforms, their social media militias and news outlet propaganda specialist, so much that its gotten to the point where it's normalized and we don't even realize what is going on. We are all being used to further agendas of people that don't give a rats ass about you. We are all brainwashed pawns fighting someone else's fight under the impression that this is how life is supposed to be. America has it's scars and dark past, no doubt, but in the grand scheme, America was created to be a place where you can believe, say and do what you want without being socially disgraced or persecuted. We have lost sight of that and I honestly don't know if we will ever get back to thinking as one nation. You can't put technology back in the box once its created, social media, biased news channels, it will only get worse as long as they continue making money and pushing the agenda's of the people who regulate and control them.

You think the Egg Bowl is toxic? It's light hearted child's play compared to the rivalry between our countries two parties. In the end, all the issues we have, come down to our binary society and the Cowboys that are herding us into the left or right pasture, branding us before locking us in and feeding us as much hay as we can eat until it comes out the other end as bull shit. As long as we keep eating it, they will keep feeding it, and the cycle continues.

I'm extremely concerned about the future of our country and our society as a whole, things have to change from the top down in order for things to really get better, and I don't think that's a realistic expectation. Instead of divisive and exclusive social movements (all lives matter, with all due respect), why not all get together and demand equality and fair treatment for all American citizens? Why not demand change from the leaders of this country, who purposely pit us against each other in order to push their agendas and divert attention from the real problem... the greed and mind control from the 0.1% and people we elect to serve the 99.9% of us every day Americans.

That is my first and last politically based post, mods feel free to delete. If I offended anyone, I'm sorry. I respect your opinion and your right to have that opinion. Let's find a middle ground and figure it out together.

It's gonna be a long fall without football, COVID can go **** itself.

Well, one candidate needs to learn how to drink a glass of water and walk down an inclined surface like a normal human being, and not an invalid, before you accuse the other candidate of mental decline. Same goes for articulating and pronouncing simple words without sounding like an infant learning how to speak for the first time.

Its baffling some want to play the mental acuity card between these two, lol.

You can't be serious? Have you actually watched Biden try to form a sentence recently? It's criminal what they're doing to this guy. He clearly is in bad shape mentally. And, as for walking, why is someone always holding on to him? I actually feel sorry for him.

Watch the video I posted. It's a 2 hour 1v1 debate from earlier this year that a person with dementia would not have been able to handle. And since it was live, there would have been no way to edit out anything.

I know "Biden has dementia" is your party line and you're not the type of guy who goes against the party line, but this one is particularly disprovable. Biden has always been an awkward, kinda goofy guy, especially for a politician, but when you look past edited, deceitful attack chops and just watch long clips, you see he's fine.

Key points:
January 15, The House of Representatives send articles of impeachment to the Senate
January 16, The Senate impeachment trial begins
January 22, The rules of impeachment are approved.
January 24, Impeachment managers conclude their opening remarks
Jannuary 28, President Trump's legal team completes their opening arguments.
January 29, Senators begin 2 days of questions in impeachment trial.
On January 31, Trump banned travel from China while Joe Biden called it "Hysterical xenophobia" and "fear mongering"
February 3rd, Closing arguments in the impeachment trial are made.
February 5th, President Trump is acquitted on both articles of impeachment.
February 24, Nancy Pelosi tour China town to quell fears about the Corona virus.
February 29, the Trump administration rolls back Obama era regulations to speed up Corona Virus testing

Also, to say you would vote for literally anyone over Trump - hopefully "anyone" doesn't include Obama - who by his own Ebola Czar - got lucky. In the words of Ron Klain: "We did every possible thing wrong. Sixty Million Americans got H1N1 in the period of time. And it is purely afortuity that this isn't one of the great mass casualty events in American history. It had nothing to do with us doing anything right. It just had to do with luck. If anyone thinks that can't happen again, they don't have to look back to 1918, they just have to look back to 2009, 2010, and imagine a different virus with a different lethality, and you can do the math on that."

H1N1 had a mortality rate of 0.02 percent. According to the CDC's latest estimate, the corona virus has an overall mortality rate of 0.4 percent for symptomatic cases (or 0.26 percent if you include asymptomatic cases) meaning the corona virus is 13-20 times more deadly than H1N1.

Thank God we don't have Obama in office now.

There's a reason why 1) Obama didn't endorse him until he was literally the only one left standing and 2) Told him "Joe, you don't have to do this"

Good article. Add that to the bullshit timeline above and you will have something. Unfortunately, people want to focus on the complete shitting of the bed by this President in Jan, Feb, March, April, May, June and part of July on the Covid Response. This started from the moment he disbanded the infectious disease response team, and hit its high point when he called it a hoax and refused to give clear guidance on how to manage your daily lives. Shit he just put on a mask like two weeks ago. What a 17ing abortion of a human being and leader.

Well, this does not appear to be quite the unbiased source. For one, it calls Trump's travel ban his "fake travel ban". It wasn't fake. It was very real. And my own ears heard several high profile Democrats refer to it as Xenophobic. It also doesn't show that the Democrats were so preoccupied with the impeachment trial to show they were actually doing anything except trying to impede Trump's progress on preventing the virus. It also doesn't mention that the N95 mask shortage was created when the Obama administration failed to replenish the supply after they used it for H1N1. I could point to a few other things it doesn't mention, but you could just click the link I posted first and check those out. There were many steps Trump took, and all he faced was a Democrat party that tried to impede him every step of the way.

https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/coronavirus/how-obamas-failure-resupply-respirators-federal-stockpile-created-2020

I do concede that Trump had time to replenish it during his time as President, but to say he is solely responsible for it is just false. The blame is largely to go to the Obama administration, which Joe Biden was a member of.

Like I said, probably nothing I can say or facts I can point to will convince you that Trump has done a much better job on this than Obama did. As I said, even Ron Klain said they basically got lucky. If that doesn't do it, nothing will.

You don understand the differences between mortality rates between the two viruses, right? Please, for the love of God, don't try to compare the two. As I posted above, the mortality rate of Corona Virus is 13-20 times more deadly than H1N1. We got lucky in 2009-2010.

The first thing I said was COVID vs H1N1 "is not an apples to apples comparison, but since you brought it up". Did you skip that part?

And the intent, obviously, wasn't to compare the mortality rates of the two (see above), but to the note the number of dead Americans in both time spans.

https://www.speaker.gov/newsroom/13120-2

This is from January 31, the same day Trump issued the ban.

Well ... Here is the whole press release you linked. Notice anything?

Washington, D.C. – Speaker Nancy Pelosi released this statement after the Trump Administration announced it is adding Myanmar, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Tanzania and Sudan to the travel ban that the President instituted three years ago:

“The Trump Administration’s expansion of its outrageous, un-American travel ban threatens our security, our values and the rule of law. The sweeping rule, barring more than 350 million individuals from predominantly African nations from traveling to the United States, is discrimination disguised as policy.

“America’s strength has always been as a beacon of hope and opportunity for people around the world, whose dreams and aspirations have enriched our nation and made America more American. With this latest callous decision, the President has doubled down on his cruelty and further undermined our global leadership, our Constitution and our proud heritage as a nation of immigrants.

“In the Congress and in the Courts, House Democrats will continue to oppose the Administration’s dangerous anti-immigrant agenda. In the coming weeks, the House Judiciary Committee will mark-up and bring to the Floor the NO BAN Act to prohibit religious discrimination in our immigration system and limit the President’s ability to impose such biased and bigoted restrictions. We will never allow hatred or bigotry to define our nation or destroy our values.”

And yes, Joe Biden was another. He can go back and try revisionist history, and that works with a large percentage of the population. But he said it then. And he said it specifically due to the travel ban.
https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/498350-biden-trumps-coronavirus-response-has-been-nakedly-xenophobic

That article doesn't attribute any quote about Biden calling the travel ban xenophobic, nor does it say he said that without quoting him. I'm not really sure why you linked it to me. I wish obama had another term to serve. i would vote for him in a second.
And yes, there is literally nothing you could say to change my mind. Nothing. I know what I value in leadership. I know what I would like this country to become, a more perfect union. I understand basic math. I own my own small business. I used to understand Republicans. Not anymore.

Oh my, have you actually looked at the DNC.org web site to see their "values" and compare them to the GOP.com values? The DNC is NOT Pro Life, NOT Pro family (any same sex union qualify), NOT pro Second Amendment, NOT free enterprise supportive (socialism), NOT for border security, NOT pro free speech (look at conservative speakers that have been protested), NOT for individual freedoms (socialist), NOT for private property ownership, NOT pro dignity of a man (welfare for generations), NOT pro capital punishment, NOT industry friendly (kill industry with carbon tax or other environmental restrictions), NOT pro strong military, NOT pro judges that adjudicate according to the constitution, NOT pro founding fathers principles (want to change the birth date of the US), NOT pro America first, NOT pro innocent before proven guilty, NOT pro individual accountability, NOT pro freedom of religion - Christanity (unless it is human secularism) and NOT pro small government. What they are for though is, government run healthcare, guaranteed government monthly salary (welfare for all), limited freedoms that those before us fought and died for, every perversion known to man (you can even marry your personal digital assistant), legalizing illicit drugs (get stoned everybody - yeah), convict a person on hearsay, convict a person with the press (fake news), releasing criminals from prison, pro rioting and destroying private property, pro raising taxes, pro killing babies in the womb (the innocent), raise minimum wages (until no one can afford the products being produced), pro gun control (look at more restrictive cities like Chicago and DC for examples of how great that works). So what exactly do you like about the DNC posture? It is pro-death! Death to America, Death to freedoms, death to accountability, death to the American dream and anti Biblical values!

Read the GOP.com site and see the values they uphold. It is in stark contrast and opposite to what the DNC stand for.

Forget the actual people in Congress, in each party, for the moment and consider that regardless of the party, 99%+ of the time members of Congress vote party line due to pressure form the party leadership. Some of you people look only at the personality of the person and not what the person or their political party stands for.

If you can't understand Republicans (not RINOs) it is because the light is too bright and you can not see your surroundings!

Ok, that article links a 40 second clip of Klain talking as part of a CSPAN panel on H1N1. Yes, he does say that "they did everything wrong", "we were lucky", and "it could happen again". He then says "But I'll say this...", but the video cuts away, and doesn't give context to what he was discussing in full. Unfortunately, that 40 second clip is all I can find on YouTube, and it's only on pro-Trump YouTube pages.

Saying you were unprepared to deal with something unprecedented, learned as you went, got very lucky, and passing on that knowledge to the next group is....failure?

That's because Klain is in no way saying his efforts or that of the administration were a "failure".

Here is the full interview.

https://www.c-span.org/video/?460710-4/pandemic-biosecurity-policy-summit-part-2

Edit: also let me add, that to distill that entire panel discussion into a 40 second clip out of context, is bottom of the barrel intellectual dishonesty. The full scope of Klein's comments are quite fascinating, especially considering the state we're in now, as that was exactly what he was warning against.

Is that similar to MSNBC completely ignoring the commetn Joe Biden made about "Latinos having diversity of thought. but the black community does not." I know that isn't the exact quote, but it's something along those lines.

How about this - as someone else said, there is nothing I can do to change their mind, despite any facts I may present. His mind is made up. I like to think I can change my mind, and in fact have. For one, I didn't even vote for Trump in the primary. I voted for Ted Cruz. True story. But, I admit I was wrong. I was scared Trump would be a bait and switch because he has supported Democrats in the past. I figured once elected, he would pass liberal policies. He hasn't. And his economy was so great that Obama was trying to take credit for it 3 years later.

But since you discredit any source I have, let's just stop talking about it. I'm sure I can't convince you, and Democrats - with their talk of Xenophobia and horrible economic recovery with higher taxes can't convince me. So, let's just stop.

Have a nice day.

The whole Karen thing is stupid as hell. I don't know if it quite qualifies as a bona fide racial slur, though. Regardless, I hope its 15 minutes are almost up.
