I've been in Mississippi for the last month, working remotely, and generally trying to avoid going back to Chicago as long as I possibly can. Are there any independent teams playing ball in Mississippi/Louisiana/Arkansas? Starved for sports.

Is there even any independent teams in Miss?

There weren't when I lived here full time, but that was over a decade ago. I'd be willing to drive to a neighboring state to take in a game.

I believe the Jackson Generals was in a independent league at the time they were around or it might have been the team after them.

There is an independent league of college players who didn't make it in MLB. Games are Sunday and Thursday in Meridian

As far as professional baseball goes, you'll have to go to Texas, Missouri, or Georgia to see it:

Thanks a bunch to all who took the time to reply. I might try to check out a game in Meridian. Looks like the Wood Bat league will also be in Birmingham soon as well, which could be fun. Or a drag. Either way, it's something to do for a couple hours where the focus wouldn't immediately be sickness or politics. Or the politics of sickness, or the sickness of politics...maybe.
