Was rated by 247 as the #1 Safety in the 2016 class. High 4-star kid. He?s from TX so there?s another TX connection to the staff. He?s played in 29 career games and has 21 tackles, 1 TFL, & 2 PBU?s. Played in 13 games as a RFr and even started against Auburn. Had an injury bug his RSo year and played in 4 games. This past year, he appeared in 13 games and played some in the secondary and some ST.
Obviously got tons of talent but couldn?t ever crack the starting rotation or get enough snaps becauSe of other highly talented kids. Pretty similar to the Shavers situation it sounds like. I?d make room for him and make a run at him. It?d be hard not to see him push for some P/T and crack the 2-deep. At worst, he?s absolutely an upgrade over Reed, Furdge, and Charles. We need another talented body in the secondary. I?d take him and hope he can live up to his HS rating and hype.
