This signing does 2 things for the Cowboys

1. Gives them a damn good backup

2. Puts some pressure on Dak

Dalton isn't a long term answer. This doesn't put any pressure on Dak.

I agree he's not the long term answer, but, with the offensive weapons Dallas has, if I'm Dak I don't want Dalton starting a game due to a hold out

Dak isn?t going to holdout. If he was he would have done it last year.

Thinking they signed Dalton to pressure Dak is quite laughable.

1 year. They needed a proven backup and now have it.

No beating on Dak at all, whatsoever

Dak will start the first game. He's not holding out.

You don't let Dak go for a guy who had the 27th out of 30 best QBR in the NFL.

Don't know why some people think Dallas would cut Dak loose for, or that Dak should be afraid of, someone that's basically a career backup.

Dallas will have 4 QBs on the roster?

They drafted the guy out of JMU, and gave Cooper Rush a couple mil.

Dalton?s been a starter in Cinci since he?s been in the league.

Sorry you're right. I should have added that IMO he's someone that's basically a career backup. I think if he had been any better than he is then another team would have taken him from the Bengals.

He was a good starter at one time but he is on the down side of his career. Dak is better now than Dalton's peak and Dak is getting better.

If I'm Jerry, I consider going after A-A-Ron, I think he still has 5 good years left in him. Not sure of the relationship between A-A-Ron and his old coach (who is Dallas' current coach). I do think Rodgers has the reputation of being difficult.

You can bet that ain't happening unless they fire the new head coach, AARon cost the head coach his job!

I understand that and love Dak, but over the next few years, Rodgers gives you a better chance at a Super Bowl.
