Just a quick thought on what the NFL draft taught me about college football:

There are 3 pillars in college football:

1. Program culture
2. Recruiting
3. Scheme/player development

- You need culture + one of the other 2 to be good.
- You need all three to be great
- Never sacrafice culture for scheme, playcalling, or recruiting. Only make those changes when the culture won't change.
- The top non-blue blood NFL producers
1. Clemson 7 - best culture in college football
2. Utah 7 - How TF does Utah get 7 draft picks? By far the best culture in the Pac 12. BY FAR....An SEC program out West
3. Minnesota 5 - PJ Fleck. Culture.
4. Mississippi State 5 - Dan Mullen. Culture
5. Iowa 5 - Kirk Ferentz culture
6. TCU 5 - Gary Patterson. Culture

Blue Bloods with hardly anyone drafted:
1. Texas - culture sucks. Herman isn't a culture guy.
2. Nebraska- We'll see if Frost can change it, but I have my doubts
3. Florida State - Culture sucks.

Point is, in all sports at MSU, the Rick Ray & Joe Moorhead type hires MUST STOP. If you prioritized culture with either of those hires, it would've been clear to not hire them. I could really say the same about Howland. At the end of the day our basketball culture sucks & we won't win till it's fixed.

Prioritize CULTURE 1ST... Then of those group of coaches, find the one that can recruit, develop, & scheme the best.

It just couldn't be any clearer. It's punching ADs & schools in the face yet they can't see it.

In my case, that is Google's job.
