Kobe just wasn't that good. He was damn good don't get me wrong, but he wasn't Labron, Chamberlain, Magic, or Jordan good.
Too soon?

Kobe was a very good offensive player but he lacked in several other areas. His total game was nothing near several other players.

Such as? He was on the all defensive team 12 times. More than any other guard in history.

What areas did he lack in if it's not offense or defense?

Y'all are kidding yourselves. Kobe isn't the greatest of all time, but he's safely in the top 10 and is one of the most clutch players in NBA history. If the clock's ticking down, I'd want the ball in Kobe's hands

This. I can tell who hasn't watched much NBA over the years.

Kobe is safely in top 10 and one of best players in NBA. I guess this is all relative to the post saying Last Dance 2. He was no Jordan. He had times he disappeared in games. He never controlled the game on both ends like Jordan did. He was more a diva that serious competitor like Jordan.

People have been trying to make him Jordan 2 for so long, just stop it.

Not an NBA fan at all now. I was thru 80s and 90s.

So much ignorance/hate being shown in here. Kobe is easily a top 10 all time NBA player and the closest thing we've had to MJ since MJ. Idk what universe someone has to be living in to say Kobe "just wasn't that good".

Seriously?? Kobe can’t hold Lebrons jock strap...... name one statistical stat he’s better than? Other than missed shots

Clutchness and a killer instinct.

Well you said if clock is ticking down, you want Kobe with the ball. Context of series of post was about how great Kobe was compared to NBA greats so it sure sounds like it. He would be in my top 10 but not 1.

In some ways I agree with that - closest to MJ over anyone else but still a gap to MJ.
