Thought the last sentence was interesting: "Should neither Walz or McCray-Penson take the job, a contingency plan is in place, but decision-makers are confident a deal will be reached with one of the two candidates in the coming days."

Is Harris the Contingency Plan?

There's a lot of smoke around Walz. It was announced today that Louisville is making cuts to their coaches' salaries. It's also rumored that he and his AD don't get along. I think if you can get him, it's a no brainer.

McCray would be a homerun hire too, but you go with the more proven coach in Walz if you can.

Bernie didn't drop out, still getting delegates.

Walz would really surprise me to leave here (Louisville). We have multiple Targets and everything! Seriously, the programs are almost in parallel with each other in terms of recent success and moving to Starkville is a cultural shock for many. Was for me, and I was just a coastie. With the recruiting class he just signed and the momentum they have, I have major doubts. UofL making budget cuts is a sign of things to come throughout the country with the COVID19 pandemic.

Well, hope Cohen has better luck in Louisville with the WBB search than he did with the baseball search.

Actually I think McCray would be the better hire. But that's just me. I'll be on board no matter who.

Louisville coach held a press conference yesterday saying he wasn’t going anywhere.

Hopefully he’s pulling a Saban/Tommy T

Either hire would be great.

The 2 things I read about his conference .. 1). All he stated was it was Just Talk, and that MSU had not offered him a job. 2). He made a joke stating that he would leave if the L.A. Lakers came calling. Never saw where he said he was not going anywhere. But, I could have missed something.

Get ready for the Contingency Plan. Seriously. We are not getting Jeff Walz.

I'm guessing that contingency plan is Johnnie Harris after Walz uses us to get a raise and McCray-Penson turns us down because we don't have a Target in Starkville.

+1

I think it's a done deal, I'd bet all my vCash it's McCray-Penson. She just checks all the boxes for this team and our program. Her resume is just awesome.

It looks like there are some people at Genes Page getting made fools of by a poster claiming Walz is gonna be the coach. Wouldn't we have learned our lesson by now?

Waltz said tonight he was staying at Louisville.

McCray looks to be our next Coach.

It would take at least 1.5 million to get waltz. He is making that now.

Can get McCray for 400k easy. She is making 200k.

Really wanted Walz and thought for a little bit we might make it happen. Props to Cohen for getting his attention and for making a run at him. Now, I’m very pumped about McCray. I think she will do great things here!

We will pay her more than 400 but either way. We will just lose 3 million on women's hoops next year instead of 4 if we pay her 500k. I'm all for it.... if we win.!!!

True. And No need to pay her more than 500k for sure.

Let's roll with McCray then!

Played four years under Pat Summit and coached 9 years under Dawn Staley. 2x SEC player of the year, 3x WNBA All-star, and 2x Olympic Gold medalist.

She's also a breast cancer survivor. I think Cohen made a good hire. Walz was always a long shot, but I appreciate him swinging for the fence.

Bernie couldn't even get people that were pissed for over 4 years about his 2016 run to actually leave their mother's house long enough to vote.
