If we had kept Moorhead and Eli didn't get picked you this year. He would have been a top 5 choice coach for me. Looks like he would have fit in here lol

Yeah, as he was out coaching our coach in the Tax Slayer Bowl I was wishing we could get him.

That was the previous appalachian state coach. Satterfield (sp?)

Also we beat Louisville in the TaxSlayer Bowl two years ago. Our loss to them this past year was in the Music City Bowl.

Did he give any specifics on the Bears' sketchy recruiting approaches?

I wouldn't be surprised if Drinkwitz flops in the SEC. He had a team that was built to win at App State and was only there for a year. Risky hire for sure.

Kind of like Moorhead except Drinkwitz actually did win.

Wasn't he Mizzou's third choice or something?

Two things stand out to me here:

1. Ole Miss' reputation proceeds them

2. Drinkowitz is naive as 17

I suppose that's what it is. Otherwise, why would a freshman coach from the East be worried about a team in the West? I wouldn't think that an Appalachian State coach would have had too much contact with or knowledge of an SEC team, unless maybe he knows something about Freeze at Liberty.

Ole Miss is the 2nd closest SEC school to Mizzou, next to Arkansas. They both recruit the Texas leftovers, so they compete for the same recruits quite a bit.

I almost compared him to Moorhead but the fact that he won with someone else's players at App State made me reconsider.

Maybe. I honestly can't remember who all they went after.

Mizzou will not get a reaction from the NCAA like top 5 teams do.
