I would take our top 5 over anyone else in the country.

I tell you what, even without Ginn I think we're as good as anybody. Get anything out of Ginn, and look out.

Also if anyone would please shut the guy up in section 114 that yells and ?coaches? from the stands - also calls our players bums when they ?fail? or do something he didn?t yell prior to the pitch - obvious he didn?t play ball past lil league as noted by my 11 yr old

Cerantola is Nuke Laloosh. "18 strikeouts, new league record, 18 walks also new league record". But the talent is there.

Is it just me or does Cerantola look like he is more accurate when he tries to throw harder? Seems like he misses with anything that isn't a 96+ fastball

We strike out WAY too much to be such a "great offensive team". I hope this is just early season timing stuff

Very frustrating to see the beaver get those pitches 2-3" off the plate called for strikes and Cerantola not get many close calls

Pimentel has got to make that catch, crap.

When you are as erratic as Cerantola you typically don't get the close ones. Just the way it is. His misses need to be a lot closer to the plate.

Yeah, I get that, but the plate is the same width for both teams. It stills frustrates me for the plate to "expand" just because the other guy gets his misses closer.

Totally understand. I don't like it either. Their guy has gotten a curve off the plate a few times today.

In spite of it all, Cerantola still has us at 2-1 after 5. 2 runs, 1 earned, 3WP, 5 BB, 6 K, 3 H. 85 pitches.

Would suck to waste a pretty solid performance by Cerentola and lose because we can't hit.

He’s going to give us heart problems, but his stuff is so damn good that he’ll always be able to limit damage.

In reality, we haven't been very good this whole weekend. Struck out a ton Friday, got walked a lot for some runs Saturday, and 1 hit so far today. Their pitchers may be top notch(I really don't know) but our line up should be raking too.

This wknd? Hell we haven?t been a good hitting team all yr. We aren?t clicking yet on offense. Popping a lot of meat balls up, or watching them go right by...

We also typically don't play top 25 teams this early in the season either. I think it's good we are. Reality is, great teams figure out how to keep winning when things aren't clicking

We weren't really all that good offensively against Wright State either. Not expecting us to be scoring double digit runs every game but thought we would be better than the pedestrian offense we've seen so far. Right now we are not hitting anything much on the nose. Lazy fly balls and ground ball choppers when we do make contact.

Good to get 2 of 3, but should have been a sweep if our bats show up at all. Pretty pathetic weekend at the plate for "one of the nation's best offenses". Wasted a good pitching performance. Won the series, but today should have been a W

Pretty rough Sunday already with the WBB team blowing their game. Guess the baseball team can put the cherry on top.

Just too sloppy today and not a good approach at the plate all day. Still a series win against a top 25 team is a solid weekend.

Centerfield camera man must have the shakes. Bad quality streaming thru firestick. Anybody else streaming that route and how is your feed?

A game where you give up 7 runs is very rarely a "should have won" kinda game.

Same here streaming with Roku. And they randomly leave the behind the plate camera angle up for 5 or 6 minutes at the time.

I thought Cerentola did exactly what we needed him to do... He should have only gave up 1 run. Sure he walks a lot, But he also can strike out anyone.

I wonder if we need to try someone like Landon Jordan or Hancock at the leadoff spot.

We have a lot of guys still trying to pull outside pitches. We seem sometimes to make no in game adjustments against a pitcher who is dealing... Thats on Coach G...

Hancock is an interesting choice. If he isn't catching, wouldn't mind seeing him at DH with L. Jordan at 3B.

He has to learn to command the ball and learn how to pitch. When you are out there walking a ton of people it affects the defense some because of positioning and fielders don't like to just stand around while you are going full count on everyone and then all of a sudden five minutes later into an at bat someone makes contact. I'm not saying that the bad defense was all Cerentola's fault because we still should have made those plays regardless but it's definitely harder on the defense and requires a little more concentration. Plus sometimes when you walk people errors can be more costly because you may end up in a bigger pickle because of the runners on base.

Your last sentence about Gautreau- I agree. One thing I don't like about him is he treats our hitters like pros. He let's them fail now and then once they break down he fixes it. In the long run it works. In the short term we may have some games like today. But I do wish sometimes he would go ahead and tell them to make whatever adjustment in game rather than just let everyone fail.
