Kind of interesting article. He takes the recruiting rankings from 2002 to this year's and, after adjusting some years for certain things like interim coaches and FCS jumping to fbs.....he then compares this year's to their average

Guess which school's recruiting class was this highest above their historical average (2002 - 2020)

Old hughe freeze at liberty. His recruiting class finished ranked 33 spots higher than liberty's average.

Others of note...we were in the middle and hit our average. We're finished with the #27 ranked class, right at our average of #26.94...in fact no other school came closer to hitting their average.

Ole miss was pretty far down. Ranked #39 this year. #22.5 average. So 16.5 spots worse than normal.

USC was last. They have an average ranking of #5 and ended up with the #55 ranked class this year. Ouch

Lol.

I think USC will be fine. They've got to much local talent.

If anything, due to the school's proximity to talent, they're the new Miami.

USC just needs the right coach and maybe the more importantly the right administration. They've been a dumpster fire in athletic department for a decade now.

That average for Liberty is likely at least in part because they have only been in FBS for one year. This year they finished in the 90's as far as recruiting with several three star recruits being their best pick ups. They need a few more years to settle in before we can figure out what their true average is. I suspect 90's is probably going to be pretty close once everything settles.

I'm more curious to see if they join a conference or not or if they are going to try to be the Southern Baptist version of Notre Dame.
