Auburn led by Unique Thompson, one if the top post players in the SEC....16.9 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. Another really good matchup for Jessika Carter and the other post players. These type matchups really help in their development, help guage progression.

Also, a lot of what Auburn does defensively is related to a noted strong zone press.

Auburn is playing their butts off and we have some girls sleepwalking. We’ve been very up and down lately and our man to man defense has not been very good against decent teams.

We should be fine if we pick it up a bit and auburn returns to their averages shooting the ball

Vic didnt start Danberry or Rickea tonight. I know he is just tinkering with lineups but it seems to mess up the flow some when we do that... those 2 should start every game in my opinion along with Carter, then rotate everyone else accordingly

Yeah, when Danberry fouled on the inbounds play giving them 2 shots, i thought vic was going to grab a chair and throw it.

Matharu's scoring helps this team a lot. Ability to score points, transition game is a big key with this team. Find ways to get her on the court more....even if adding an extra guard (3-4 guards at times). My opinion, team is hard-pressed to beat teams like South Carolina, and other top 10-15 type team's without Matharu and other bench players contributing a good bit of offense.....regardless mistakes they make. Coaching staff's main lineup has yet to show much of an ability to even stay competitive with really good team's like South Carolina and Stanford without the bench players. Rickea Jackson and Jordan Danberry are the team's best 2 players right now. Need them playing exceptionally well, help carry this team.


Also, Yemiyah Morris played very well, especially in the first half (8 points). Keep giving her playing time, developing her. She missed a few shots (4-8 fg...50%), mostly in the second half, so did..even Teaira McCowan miss her share of shots when she first started getting playing time...even in the National Championship Game against Notredame. Very important to keep developing Morris. Remember, it"s just her first season at Miss. State. Jessika Carter was in the system last season and preseason....has definitely made a difference for this season.

Any updates on Sidney Cooks (Michigan State transfer) ? How has she been coming along? Would be good if someone did a write-up on her transition to Miss. State and the women's basketball program. Expecting the power forward position to be a team strength next season.

Note...Saw where Deyona Gaston recently had a game where she had 32 points and 19 rebounds while helping lead her team to a big win.

I watched the replay of this game and we obviously didnt play well, but after watching Auburn I'm surprised they are only 7-12. Their guards were pretty quick, they play good defense and they have solid post play. They looked alot better than the record shows

I agree, I thought Auburn looked like a solid team so was surprised when I saw their record. Looks like they haven’t shot well from outside most of the year and perhaps they’ve had some games where their lost player gets in fouls trouble.

We did horrible in transition defense though which allowed them to get a lot of good looks
