Not sure of the context, but they do that all the time. Fumble, pileup, Player A comes out of the pile with the ball, then on replay you see that Player B had it in his possession when he was on the ground, and Player A took it from him after that. Players A and B can be on either team. If the refs initially ruled any player but Player B recovered it, they change the call after replay.
