If we can?t pull coaches from Cincinnati and ull then we need to really look hard at where we are as a program.

You're basing this on many assumptions that may or may not be true.

Let's just hope John gets the right guy instead of having an ego about how our program is perceived.

If we get the right guy, none of it matters.

Clemson hired a WR coach
Ohio State an OC
Oklahoma an OC
UGA a DC
LSU a DL coach
Baylor Temple's coach

There is no formula to hiring football coaches. just hope we get the RIGHT one

Top 25-30 program in a Top 5 division. We have money, facilities, and a talent footprint. We should be able to attract an established HC that isn't a retread.

However, established coaches don't want to come here to get their asses pounded by LSU and Bama every year.

Is what it is.

I think some people need to reevaluate what they think about the coaching profession. More and more coaches are looking at the right fit for them and THEIR FAMILY and are willing to wait it out if it is not just right. They are fairly young, are making enough money to provide their families with very good lives in some lower stress coaching jobs where they are highly appreciated. If a coach from Cincinnati is highly religious (Catholic) and loves the Midwest and doesn't want to move to the South why should we feel bad about our program because we can't get him to come to the Southiest of all Southern states to a rural area whose religious schools are mostly Baptist and were, in many cases quite frankly, set up to serve segregation purposes. Why is that a reflection on us as a program? We just ain't gonna be some peoples cup of tea. That's ok.

Also, is the coach from ULL the guy you just capitulate to everything for? Really? He's just that special we just roll over like a good dog? Say thank you for rubbing my belly, we are so blessed to have you? Is that what you want us to be? We know you really want Baylor, or South Carolina, Coach, two jobs that you are in no way an absolute shoe-in for, so we are just so thankful you are considering us. F that, honestly.

Really Clark?

I disagree with Fickel, who I would love to have. But that?s his home, is about to be extended to around $3 MIL is my guess, and is very comfortable to wait for a job in his foot print to come open and compensated very well while waiting. Probably just another year anyway when MI ST opens up. I can see exactly where he is coming from and understanding who he is and where he fits best.

How about we at least see who we hire before we start jumping to conclusions?

Arky - a DL coach

UGA - DC from Bama
USC - DC from AU who failed at UF

Yep some guys, young risers, don't want to come here and not be able to sniff a championship. If these types are then they will leave for a bigger program ASAP, IE Mullen.
