Had a thought to go check recruiting rankings between the two while at ULL.
Instead of looking whether one finished higher ranked at the end of the year nationally or even in the Sun Belt, I looked at the rating per player. To me, that gives you a better idea of who did better in a head to head look such as this. If you say Hud finished 74th in the country in 2013 and Nape finished 78th in 2018, that really doesn't give you an idea of their recruiting prowess. When you break it down by individual player, that shows you who did a better job player vs player.
Hud had 6 recruiting classes. Napier had 3, counting this years just signed. I'll break it down by year and then individual player ranking. You can see how each progressed from one year to the next. Of course Hud had the NCAA troubles that affected his midstream, but it still counts.
Like I said, just a thought to pass the time until Monken is named the head guy. Yes, that's a joke. I hope.
