He would be far from my top 5. But you damn well believe he would be a disciplinarian... But would need a great oc to pair with him.

Yes there is interest and he would win.

Why would there be? Not saying he couldn't be successful, but there's also no evidence to suggest he could.

I think it would depend on who he brought in as OC especially. Not my first choice, but with a top notch OC, I could live with Grantham. He knows what it takes to win in the SEC. You wouldn't have all this crap happening off the field....or on for that matter. Plus you wouldn't see all these tweets from players, etc. bickering with fans.

No, not until we are through the list of candidates with HC experience. I would prefer Skip Holtz over Grantham.

I’m not really a fan of a defensive minded coach. Look at Kirby for example. He’s been recruiting lights out since he’s been at UGA and they’re good but I don’t think he’s getting everything out of his team.
I think Grantham wants to be at Starkville and like you said he would be a disciplinarian but more importantly he recruited well to his defense and it was very effective IMO.
If he could get a young guy and teach his system to then hire an OC and he could run things like Ed O is doing.
When you’ve got a guy that wants to be there they seem to give that extra effort. Matt Luke excluded obviously

I think he would do fine here. And he would love being here.

Yeah I don’t blame you about HC first.

The only way I want Grantham is if he is paired with a Hudspeth as OC/Assistant HC. Otherwise I would prefer him as DC, which likely won't happen unless Mullen takes an NFL job.

I still can't believe we would fire Joe without our next HC lined up. This could spiral Big League if we aren't careful. I wanted Napier. If no Napier, I actually like Fritz a lot and think he'd do well here. Hudspeth wouldn't disappoint me too much...Grantham as HC without a really strong OC would disappoint me

I would think any coach would need a top offensive coordinator. Grantham has the edge the team needs from its head coach. Yes, he will need a strong staff, but that's the case with every coach. They all need a strong staff. Billy Napier needs a strong staff. Todd Grantham is a very accomplished defensive coordinator. That alone doesn't make him a great candidate, but it also doesn't mean he is lacking.

He's gruff, and he's not going to pull any punches when he speaks. That turns a lot of people off at times.

Personally, I think we have blown this opportunity if we go with Todd as head coach.
