In the article about his extension. This makes me weary of the rumor about it being him. Who makes a statement About an extension and then turns around and accepts another job a couple of hours later?

Someone that wants to be a head coach in the SEC west and not the Sun Belt. And someone that wants his team to stay engaged for a bowl game.

And Saban was quoted 48 hours before he took the Alabama job as saying he?s not going to be the head coach at Alabama. What?s your point? Napier is going for 11 wins at UL. A feat that has never been done before. Read the Bert Stare post. He wants to finish what he starts.

What do you expect him to do or say while he's on site for a bowl game with his team who is going for their 11th win for the first time in school history?

Changes nothing, imo.

Bunch of coaches have change courses. Some extremely quickly. But it didn?t say his quote was from today. That could have already been canned for days waiting to be released.

Hell Billy Donovan took the Magic job and then went back to Florida.

His quote today was (hopefully) nothing more than a bid to raise his salary with us.

What do you want the guy to do? Turn down the extension before anything else is finalized? I would do the same thing as Napier until I was in Starkville sitting in my new office.

Paul Jones reported in November that they were giving him and the assistants a 2 year extension, so this is been in the works for a while. I'm sure they had those quotes ready for the release weeks ago, they only sent out the announcement today. It's no coincidence.

That quote from Napier was actually the quote he gave about the extension on Dec 24th. So it wasn?t given today
