I am watching the Texas High School 5A championship game between Denton Ryan and Shadow Creek. Instant replay is allowed in the championship games in Texas. Instant replay was used and after just two obvious views a decision was reversed. No Chinese WATER TORTURE watching replay over and over and over just to get the call wrong. Why can't the NFL and CFB function at this level? Just an odd observation to share with fellow Elitedoggers?

it's painful to wait as long as we do when it's obvious.

Aren't they supposedly looking at a couple other things, like exactly where to place the ball and how to adjust the clock? Neither of those are all that important except in the closing seconds of the game.

Believe it or not, they accurately spotted the ball and got the spot correct? Maybe this official crew was looking for the obvious and nothing else?

Given the current technology, every play could be reviewed and the exact spot related to the officials via an earpiece within seconds. It is absurd that this has not happened. Could probably even have small gps devices in the footballs to get even more precise.

Bottom line is the conferences do not want this. It prevents them from artificially propping up the teams headed for the playoffs. Just look at how many plays that were not reviewed for us that would have benefitted us, when we play the big boys. And on the flip side, how many plays were reviewed and ruled against us when they obviously were the wrong call. The current replay system is just enough to silence the critics, while still allowing the conference to keep their fingers on the scale.
