Lot of speculation going on about what the weather will be like in Central/Southern Mississippi Monday afternoon/evening. The SPC put out a slight risk for severe weather back on Thursday and now has a pretty large area under enhanced risk today. What are your thoughts about severe chances?

Expect some wind and heavy rain in the area. Hopefully nothing more develops. I have a kid in starkville so I will be monitoring closely as Monday unfolds.

I will be on the road all day Monday. Hope it calms down.

Potential is there for severe weather, but not a perfect set up. Low level winds are wanting to come in parallel to the front which favors more linear storms. However, some of the models are trying to bring them in more perpendicular which will favor more discrete cells. If that happens then there may be more of a tornado threat. Main threat still looks to be damaging straight line winds.

It is looking like a chase worthy day. Gonna feel good to get back out there again.

Central MS keep and eye on these storms down around Alexandria. Already multiple tornado warnings.

All the activity will likely enter into Mississippi a little later in the day. Temps are way above average too.
