It's what Kiffin does, and its not necessarily a bad thing, he did it to piss MSU fans off and to troll and it is obviously working. These are the types of things that happen in a good rivalry and Kiffin isn't afraid to push people's buttons. When he left Bama he took shots at Saban. It may make the rivalry even better on a National platform which may be good for the entire State. Dan Mullen sort of did the same thing when he was hired and wouldn't call Ole Miss by its name and would only refer to them as The School Up North. Kiffin understands how this works and how rivalries work, he's been in the SEC on the big stages before.

Our fanbase cares way too much about what Ole Miss is doing. I’m not concerned with them until they start beating us consistently. We need to focus on our own issues in and around our athletic department. We should be more focused on the teams that consistently beat us to elevate ourselves above Ole Miss. There is a clear cut top 5 in the SEC but after that there is no reason we can’t be 6 or 7 with occasional wins over the top 5 if we have the right coaching.
