Hopefully this won't turn into the Civil War every other thread does now. Who is in? Obviously the winner of UGA and LSU is. If Clemson beats UVA, and they almost certainly will, they are in. If OSU beats Wisconsin, and they should, they are in. So who is 4th? I think this is the year they throw a bone to the PAC if Utah wins out. If they don't it's Oklahoma provided THEY win out. If neither do it gets real interesting. A one loss LSU could get in. If UGA plays a fantastic game but loses narrowly to LSU it might be them. It might be Baylor if they beat Oklahoma. If they are REALLY serious about throwing a bone to the PAC it could be a 2 loss Oregon. I think those are the only real possibilities.

Oh, and Oklahoma HAS to win tonight. That is certainly in doubt the last time I looked.

I think if GA will be the one left out and it will be OK in. OSU, Clemson and LSU are not losing next week. OK is sitting there waiting. Utah is libel to lose to Oregon.

LSU, Clemson, and Ohio State are 100% in if they win next week, as they'll be 13-0.

Utah will get the 4th spot if they finish 12-1. If they lose next week, the fourth spot goes to Baylor or Oklahoma if 12-1.

If LSU, Clemson, or Ohio State lose, it gets interesting because it's unclear whether they would stay in or get jumped. Georgia is definitely in if they beat LSU. Those are the only 7 teams who can possibly make it.

They should be, but I suspect a 12-1 Oklahoma, Baylor, or Utah would be in line ahead of any team that doesn't win their conference. Yet another reason why we need an 8-team playoff.

Agree, but take it to 16 like the other divisions. The Power 5 champs. The highest rated group of 5 team, and the rest by committee. If it's 8, do it the same way, with 2 by committee. Use the bowls as far as possible.

Why?? They weren't going to win next week anyway.

I believe I said that. They have a better history than us but it's ancient times. I just like seeing an outsider win something. They would have won their division if they had won.

You are dead anyway. Had you won today, the odds were better than50-50 you would have been in. They take a two loss UGA ahead of you, and they ain't taking a two loss UGA unless some really weird stuff happens.

Ohio State and LSU are in... as is Clemson if they beat a shitty UVA.... and UGA is in if they win... If not, Okie can get in...

Baylor has a decent shot with Bammer losing and Okie winning, today... Utah needs heppin...

Bammer is gettin the plug pulled as we speak...

I don't think so. UGA did win their division. If both are at two losses, you take UGA.

Lemme dial that last post back and qual it... If LSU beats UGA like I think they will (~12 points), a 2 loss bammer would get in over a 2 loss UGA,,,

Regardless, we gonna get some new blood in the CFP, and it'll be fun to watch...

The question of whether 10-2 Alabama or 11-2 Georgia would get in first is moot, because neither has any chance no matter what happens in the other games next week.

The Big 12 champion (either 12-1 Oklahoma or 12-1 Baylor) is line ahead of them, LSU is already 13-0 in this scenario, and Ohio State and Clemson are still in front of them even with a loss next week. The Committee has never selected a 2-loss team and won't if there's a 1-loss P5 team available.

Good post... my thoughts were that a 2 loss SEC non champ (uga.bammer) could get in over a 2 loss Oklahoma Big 12 champ that lost to OK St (yeah, didn't happen) and Baylor.

They'd certainly be the "better" team, but I think the current committee is moving towards the "most deserving" team... although I don't know what the criteria is for that...

LSU, OSU and Clem are locks. The last one depends on the SEC champ. If Uga somehow wins they get the last spot, otherwise it comes down to Utah and Hurts and Co. Utah has to play Ore in the Pac12 championship while Hurts has to play Baylor.
